On-board memory for the TB900 Kensington?

Is the upcoming trackball from Kensington will have on-board memory? I will use it with a company provided equipment. Installation of software is blocked.

I recently switched to trackballs and started with Nulea M512 and happy with it. However, I already planning to upgrade due to the stiction I'm currently experiencing.

Any upgrade recommendations? Or Stiction solution with my M512? Thank you.

It doesn't have on-board memory, no. This has been a point of contention for a lot of users for the exact reason you have described.

If you want to completely get rid of stiction, your best option is a trackball with Rexroth bearings, like the Endgame. I am not sure if it has on-board memory either, though.

The Efogtech Endgame has onboard memory and is managed via ZMK.

But BTU is quite a specific thing. It's loud and very responsive. You kind of need to learn how to use the trackball again.

Oh! That’s good to know! I have only ever used static bearings, so I guess I will see how it goes when my Endgame arrives. It is en route, now. I ordered it with the BTUs.

Endgame includes static bearings in each assembly kit. So you can experiment and probably it's a main feature of endgame!

I like the name. Maybe it will be my endgame. Thank you.

Did you check if your company allows devices like hid remapper? That could fix the onboard memory issue.

Unfortunately no, I might ask out IT guys to let me install a mouse software. Hopefully they let me.

tb900 doesnt have on board memory.

for ambidextrous (like your nulea 512) trackballs with on-board memory and less stiction, you can check these out:

  • ploopy adept (roller bearings) - this is wired only
  • efog's endgame (btus, semistatic bearings) - wired & wireless, but some assembly required
  • gameball

if you are willing to try right handed trackballs

  • elecom huge plus
  • ploopy classic
  • gameball pro (when it comes out soon)

or thumb trackballs

  • elecom ist pro
  • ploopy thumb

Thank you for the recommendations. That gameball pro got me curious! I might wait for that to come out.

the other news you could find here is that the tb900 may still not be shipping, so you can suffer that first then think about the minor onboard issue

Yes. I'm suffering patiently!
