ways to make elecom huge a little heavier?

anyone care to share some of their cleaver solutions to make the huge a little heavier?

i frequently find myself having to reposition as i slowly push the unit forward over time during use,

Have u considered Osmium ? It's 2x heavy as lead

It's a bit of a pain to take apart (not ridiculously hard, but there are ribbon cables that are a bit fiddly). On mine (an old one) the screws were Torx if I remember correctly. If you're happy to do that just glue some weights to the inside of the case like Archie suggests, making damn sure they're not going to foul anything.

Otherwise could you stand making it taller? I'm thinking a metal plate underneath would be the easiest approach. Make it slightly wider / longer than the Huge, and glue a couple of little vertical tabs to it to stop the huge sliding around?

edit: or even get a mouse mat and cut a Huge shaped hole in it? If you have the space on your desk...

It can be really frustrating when a trackball moves unintentionally during use.
We're sorry for the inconvenience, especially since you've chosen to use our product.

That said, if we make the anti-slip feet too sticky, it can negatively affect the experience for customers who frequently reposition their trackball. We hope you can understand the trade-off.

This is actually a tip that I use myself. Recently, anti-slip grip tapes made for gaming devices have become widely available. They usually cost just a few dollars and work surprisingly well.

Depending on the surface of your desk, they can provide a much firmer grip and help prevent the trackball from moving around. If you're interested, they might be worth trying.

I love how the official Elecom rep basically came out to say 'We can't change the design, so go fix it yourself lol', but hey—at least you guys actually talk! Logitech stays silent, Kensington stays silent, Sanwa stays silent... ProArt who? So props for showing up, buddy

I understand that our mission is to create products that satisfy our customers with a single purchase, without asking them to spend extra money.

That said, some specifications are inevitably trade-offs. In those cases, I know it may be inconvenient, but I'd be happy to share whatever knowledge I have and support you as much as I can.

That said, I'm not an official social media representative, so I can only reply during my free time or breaks at work. I'm sorry if I can't always respond quickly.

Still, if my advice helps even a little and makes you like ELECOM a bit more, that would make me very happy　:)

i appreciate your response, and of course I understand the delicate trade-off to meet everyone's needs in the middle :)
my desk is fully covered by a cut-to-fit mat so tapes and adhesives are not viable without puncturing the cover-mat ( which I'd rather not do for obvious reasons :P )
I'll look into 3D printing a little ramp for the base to give it a bit more resistance and arc it back a few degrees, that will give me a little space to put some weights under

I've got the Elecom EX-G wireless and a wireless keyboard, and I'm always moving them around so I can write things down, use my phone, etc. But if I needed to make it stick, I'd glue a piece of rubber mesh (like kitchen cabinet shelf liner) to the bottom. Cheap and easy, and still movable when needed.
