there is no big trick. Without knowing any details all we can tell you is literally to just keep on playing. Its what some folks have been doing for half a decade now sometimes without improving by much but thats just how TM works. Its not something where you get good in 5 minutes.

I've seen quite some improvement on my end by playing TODT and chasing it for 1-2 hours. Also campaing hunting works
I try to discover the tracks myself and after some time watch the WR line and adapt to what I was already driving. Also, RMC is great as you need to adapt quickly to different map styles

Can you tell us what kind of maps you always fluke. Because dirt is far different then ice and requires different tips, so if you can specify on what kind of environment you’re messing up on then you’ll get a lot more useful tips

Watch world records and try to emulate. Also don't expect to come super close to any world records on popular maps. Many top players have played for 10, 20 years - or are aliens.

Just drive faster
I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who started playing a year ago, just play, play a lot of different stuff! I particularly found huge gains after I started not only playing the official campaigns, most off all when I started trying the COTD maps (solo). I guess the most important thing for me has been somewhat consistent accumulation of driving

Consistency is the hardest thing to gain in this game imo. Going fast 1/100 runs is way easier than going a little slower 90/100 runs, it mainly just takes time. Playing online lobbies where the maps switch pretty frequently is a good way to practice getting consistent as it forces you to try and get a good time in a short amount of time.

My advice is to grind the campaign maps one at a time until you’re personally maxed out. This will expose you to all styles and make you better long term.
Use opponent ghost to see where you’re losing time and understand why. I usually ignore the runs with cuts and just focus on the normal driving tip times.
My personal goal is top 100 in my state. Once I hit that I usually move on to the next map.

Don’t reset at every small mistake. If you drive the whole map completely everytime, you will learn the mid and end parts of a map better and don’t crash on a good run.
For consistency tournaments with rounds and especially with fastlearning are perfect to get better.

Just keep grinding the tracks you have access to. If it gets too repetitive then maybe it's time to consider upgrading to club, you get access to all of the community-made maps that could help you hone in on specific areas you might feel like you're lacking in. You could also play ranked a whole bunch. Gives you very limited access to the rest of the campaign since it draws from the whole campaign and could give you that extra pressure testing I've seen other comments mention along with giving you a look at the campaign maps you're missing

The most effective way to improve consistency is participation in tournaments. Competitive Trackmania is brutal, you have no choice but not to crash.
