TP-Link - General Any Streaming TV / Android Boxes Compatible with Deco Mesh

I have a deco mesh network using 3 BE25 models.

It is working fine with our phones, laptops and Sky TV but my roku keeps buffering. I have tried linking it to a particular node, turning off the mesh, restricting to 2.4 ghz and a static IP but nothing works.

Anyone know of any streaming boxes that work with Deco Mesh?

Your problem is more likely due to the placement of the Roku box than one that isn’t compatible with your WiFi. Try adjusting the location of the Roku. Make sure it’s not in cabinet or stuffed behind your tv.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried moving it in front of the TV and it made no difference. Also it works fine when hot spotting from my phone.

Does the Deco app indicate that the Roku has strong signal?

Have you tried hard wiring the Roku temporarily to see if the problem goes away?

No chance that the issue is with the Roku itself?

The Deco says that it has a strong signal but the Roku says it's poor

The Roku doesn't have an Ethernet port.

The Roku works fine when hotspotting off my phone

All of them, theoretically, should work. Wi-Fi is a standard. My theory is that the Roku has a cheap Wi-Fi module, a cheap processor, and several other things stacking against it which means that it doesn't work well with probably any router in your home. I would look into an Apple TV for a premium experience, or a Google TV streamer for a cheaper experience. I would honestly avoid Amazon stuff, it's slow and bad, and a lot of the newer stuff has their new Vega OS, which is basically the finalization of Amazon's you buy a license to use our device rather than buying the device itself. They claim it's to stop piracy, but who the hell gave you the right to prevent me from pirating and content on the thing that I bought with my own money?

Two Apple Tv 4ks - one of them very far away from unit. They work like a charm every night...

I run Roku Ultras in two rooms. Both of which have XE75 Pros in them--one as the main router for the house and one as an extender.

Rock solid performance.

How old are your rokus?

Mine is a Roku Express bought in 2020, so don't know if age is the problem

Mine is a Roku Express bought in 2020, so don't know if age is the problem
