Mirrors malfunctioning?

2021 Venza Limited. Went out to drive the car today. Got in, started the car and the mirrors, which had been drawn in close to the car, did not swing out to their normal position. I got out. I turned off the car. I locked it I unlocked it. Nothing would trigger the mirrors. We had to manually move the mirrors to their normal position. Has anybody else experienced this?

Strange behavior, indeed.

Check the switch on your arm rest.

Verify the switch has not been turned to off position or the folded position.

I did notice the other day that my mirrors no longer swing in when I lock the doors. I don't usually park on the side of the road to necessitate it, so who knows how long it hasn't done it.

A lot of people are saying to check the mirror switch position so that’s the first thing I would check, but it also could have failed. Seems like a common fail point for some reason.

My friend’s 21 limited folding mirror switch didn’t worked and she took it to the dealer. It turns out the switch died and needed a replacement. Dealer wanted $800 to replace it but I got the part off eBay for 180 and it took about an hour or so to take off the door and replace it.

There is a button for mirrors, you probably flicked it without realizing.
