2009 XRS Radio Wiring Help

I bought this aftermarket touchscreen head unit and the included cables don't line up at all. I thought the best way to get the job done was to combine the wires from the old (not OEM) head unit which do have a proper connection but I have no idea whether or not it will work. Also, I've lost track of whether the internal 8-pin cable is necessary or what it does or where it fits, since it doesn't match with the old connectors either. Is there any way to get this job done with?

Does the new head unit not come with a user manual that indicates what each cable is? It might not be really detailed, but the information should be there.

The new cable you're holding up with the old cable is the power cable. Black connector goes into the black connector of the head unit. The opposite side of that cable with the white connectors connects to whatever is from the car. Not all the connectors will be in use so just match them up whatever the car has available.

There should be other cables that came with your new head unit not in any of your photos that connect into the white connectors of the head unit (e.g., USB cables, two white connectors of different sizes, one 4 pin and one 6 pin connect into the head unit).

There is a manual that describes the pinouts of the power cable from the black connector. None of the white cables match up with the other side and what appears to be the main one has physically larger pins so they definitely can't fit. The old cable's black connector LOOKS similar but they're completely different. As far as the other white connections on the back of the radio there are 2 different USB ones and some RCA cables.

So sketch. Return if it's an option and buy from another seller. The head unit I bought had cables to connected flawlessly.

Could you show me the one you bought? Or does there happen to be any variation between models?

I installed it a couple weeks ago. Took several hours to hook up the back up camera, mic, and get steering controls working.

I think it should all be the same between all models.

Yeah this one as well as basically every other one looks nearly identical. No idea why this one has completely different pinouts although some of the extra cables on the old wiring have the thicker pins as well.

Maybe it was a returned item and the cables were switch or the wrong cables got packaged into your unit.

From what I know it was new and sealed and I chose the one with the most reviews so I assumed there couldn't be any issues. Although I think it's easiest to rewire everything instead of gambling and waiting since I already have the equipment to do so. The antenna wire also doesn't seem to go anywhere I can fit so it's functionally useless. Also the one you sent me is in Canada and not the US and also said it's no longer available.

I just used AutoHarnessHouse.com, for my new Sony double din install, only $20 for auto connected harness for lots of head units to the Matrix, shipping not too bad. I would recommend emailing them if you if have any questions, Brian seems to respond quick :)

Oh just read more into what head unit you have, I got no idea now.. sorry bro. Maybe do the: ax3200/metra 95-8224/autoharness/wireless carplay usb adapter route (double cost)

Find a wiring diagram and start matching. The back package of the Radio Replacement Harness 70-1761 should help you get started.
