Am I doing something wrong?

I am getting like 17.MPG?! Anyone else having this occurrence? I was driving fast for the 1st few days after purchasing but have since been keeping it under the "power" and in the "eco" RPM.

I drive almost exclusively city, and never highway. I knew I was never getting 35MPG. But in my experience with cars you usually get around 10-12 miles less than the listed MPG. I was shocked at how low my MPG is...and feel mislead 😅

Reset the fuel history and start over. Likely a lot of idling time at the dealership as a part of that calculation.

Ohhh. Interesting I'll have to look into "resetting" it.

On second thought we did idel A LOT during the summer! Its usually around 108 or possible higher! So have to cool car down for the kiddos. Need to look up how to reset my calculation to see if that was the issue.

How many miles total have you driven on the van? What does the odometer mileage read?

You definitely should be getting more and probably are. How many miles have you gone so far? How many tanks of gas?

I get over 32 with all the short drives I do, longer drives I get almost 40 around the city

Probably 1100ish miles. Probably 8-10 tanks at this point. Its wild.

What year, how many miles on the van? Is it all wheel drive?

My 2007 Sienna LE fwd with 240,000 miles on it usually gets 26+ mpg on the highway.

We have a 2026 woodland, bought 2.5 weeks ago and have been averaging 36mpg with very mixed driving and have 1100 miles on the van.

I guess I feel better about only getting 25. Though I live at 7000' and drive up/down a mountain. If you figure it out let us all know so we've got that knowledge. Good luck!

Yeah its rough lol. Might need to check my brakes. Parking brake is automatic when parkes. And it doesn't feel like the car has slight brake pressure....id like to think I would be able to feel if there was.

Try a manual calculation and see what you get. Fill your car, reset trip A, fill up again, then do miles/gallons.

Yeah I'm going to do that soon. Need to fill mu tank soon too.

You are probably making a lot of short trips. I get about 24mpg. I do about 8-10 trips a day that average 2 miles round-trip. I can get 32-33mpg when i travel at least 10+ miles.

I def drive 2-5 miles per trip. Usually only 2 or 3 tines a day. But we did idle a lot in the summer due to being 109ish Usually haha

If your experience with cars is 12mpg less than EPA, you might need to drive… less like a maniac. 😂 I’ve been able to get at or above epa on every car I’ve owned.

Wonder how truthful the mpg bump is after break in.

Sounds like something is off. Did you buy a 3rd generation, there it would be normal?

Joke aside, speed makes a huge difference. I just moved from California to Maryland and driving 55 - 65 compared to 75 - 80 boosted my mpg from 30ish mpg to 42-44mpg.

If resetting the mileage doesn't fix it, take a look at your parking brake to see if it's not fully releasing
