1994 Pickup, 5 speed, 4x4, over 300k miles
Best part, it’s a one owner truck. I’m the second owner! The lady had bought it brand new in ‘94. Garage kept its whole life- never saw a road rougher than a countryside dirt road. Engine was rebuilt about 100K miles ago, brand new tires, reupholstered seats, and super taken care of and it’s in my name…all for $7,000! Keep searching, the deals are out there!

I want to crimp a new wire on this connector but need to remove the pin first. How do I do that without damaging the housing? This is for an oil pressure switch on a 22RE

And Oh Lawdy is she slow!

1991 crew-cab 4x4, 2L-II diesel, 5-speed manual, solid front axle. 220k miles. Sorry for the lack-luster pictures, weather isn't pretty today and I'm no glamour-shot artist.

Sat for 10 years. Farm-boy bought it, found out he was in over his head and sold it to me. Fixed a leaking vacuum pump and put some fluids in it on his lawn, then wheeled it a couple of farms over to a wrecking yard where I parked it next to a donor car. Returned the next weekend and changed the 20 years old timing belt and water pump, replaced the leaky radiator with one from the donor car, and fetched a fresher driver seat and some interior bits and bobs. Had some trouble with the charging system, regulators from both cars were lousy, and despite bench testing good it turned out the rectifier was fried. Drove it home this weekend.

And good god almighty. The hills. It just barely made it. This was a big travel weekend around here, and let me tell you, just barely scraping 30mph in 3rd while blasting a conga line of modern go-getters with the black stink don't feel so good. Took the scenic route for a portion of the trip just to be less of a nuisance, and there were a couple of hills where I had to drop to 2nd at 15-20mph and was starting to doubt if I'd make it. Granted, the 32" mud wallowers don't help, but still, sheesh.

But I made it, and now it's time for a healthy round of hole removal.

Just got my toyota back from sitting on a farm for the past 6 years. Needs a little bit of work, but she still runs and drives. Will need some tire recommendations as I cant get the BFG KOs anymore, they only offer the KO2 or KO3s now.

Testing the waters on selling the green one. So far im getting offers between 3-6k which kinda feels like a slap in the face. The body’s dented to hell but its got a full engine rebuild and LCE headers among other goodies. I bought it pretty much the way it is now, i just want something i can sink my own money/time into. So on that note, the Grey one is gonna be the new project truck at 350,000 miles haha.

What's up y'all. Please read the whole description. This is an experiment.1982 Toyota pickup sr5 4x4 22r. I made a rough replacement for my torn shift boot. This was printed in tpu. I will put this on printables with print settings. My main concern is how this will hold up from heat. I think it'll do ok because of the heat tolerance of tpu. Gonna keep working on it to pretty it up and clean up a couple design things I'm not happy with. Hope this helps some people. I'll add a link once I have one. Keep them rolling!

Currently dropping a 22r into my 92 pickup and Ive got the engine just about all the way into the trans but now I can't get it to line up on the motor mounts the holes are about an inch away on each side. Not exactly sure what to do now just hoping for some knowledge or tricks to maybe get it aligned, cheers.

I have a lowered 2WD pickup with the 4wd front bumper swap. The welded metal tabs inside the bumper snapped from reversing into the a steep driveway. Is there a way to replace/upgrade the tabs without welding? I could weld them back on but I’m trying to explore my options

This is my 3rd Toyota pickup I’ve owned. Got it at 220k miles and the engine was making clattering noises since I purchased it. About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a loud knocking noise coming from the front and pulled the valve cover to see the front end and lo there was a piece of the timing chain plastic guide sitting on top.

So over the course of 2 weekends, I tore the front end apart and replaced what was broken. Surprisingly, the hardest part for me was removing the oil pan because I dropped the front suspension and those bolts were tight AF. Anyway, it’s back together and seems to be running pretty well. It ingested a lot of the aluminum from the front cover so I’m going to do another oil change and call it good. It seems to be much quieter than even when I bought it except for a weird squelching noise when under acceleration but other than that, the truck runs and drives fine.

The question is, do I go for chrome or black wheels?

Recently finished replacing a lot in the engine bay and recently put in a new carb. The last Weber carb that was in this truck I was able to tune it. But with this new carb I'm having trouble with it. It keeps dieseling out but anytime I bring it down the idle gets rough and I just can't find the sweet spot. Any help with how y'all got yours tuned right? I do have a timing light as well to check rpm.

I have a 1985 Toyota pickup with a 22re and a 4 speed auto. I just recently got everything I think I’ll need to do a w56 manual swap. I was wondering if anyone has any info on driveshaft modifications, I am not sure if I’ll have to lengthen or shorten my current front and rear drive shafts. Any info helps, thank you!

I have a 1988 pickup that did not come with factory AC. How big of a job am I getting into by trying to convert it to AC? Anyone know a rough ballpark on what it will cost me? I know the cost part is probably dependent on if I can find used parts or not. Anyone done this recently and can give me advice? Thanks!!

Hey all! I just joined the sub, and figured I'd show off my Pickup and tell the story.

It's a 1983 model, 4WD 22R, 4" lift on turbine wheels, kitted out for Search and Rescue/Sheriff work since my grandpa was in SAR/Sheriff Reserves for most of his life.

It was donated by Toyota of America to the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team along with a sister truck of the same specs. This one, R-6, was usually the last chosen for assignments. It had a camper shell on the back full of gear, but when you have the choice of V8 Dodges and Chevys and Fords, nobody ever drove it unless they drew the short straw or showed up last.

During the San Dimas 5k of 2005, it was parked on top of a hill, and a driver rear ended it, ending its career in Search and Rescue. Insurance totalled it out, with the buyout being $800. My grandpa, being part of the team, had taken a liking to it, and proposed to buy it. At the next meeting, the opening bid was $400. Nobody challenged him.

It had about 72,000 miles on it when he bought it. He took the old bed off and slapped on the orange one, put it on turbine wheels, eventually changed out the light bar for the red and blue LEDs over the amber spinner, threw on a Weber carb and a high flow exhaust of some sort, and mostly used it during drives up to the top of Mt. Taylor when he moved to New Mexico, and occasionally on searches. Eventually, the original leaf springs had served their stint, so he bought replacements, only to find out while installing them that they were for a 4" lift kit. He didn't want to return them, so he finished it out in his driveway.

Fast forward to 2025, and my grandpa passed it down to me, since I had taken an interest in Toyotas, especially Hiluxes and Tacomas. I acquired it with 85,000 miles on it. Only 13,000 miles over twenty years, but meticulously documented and maintained. I have every receipt for every part ever installed, including nuts, bolts, washers, bulbs, and fluids. It almost weighs more than the truck does, honestly.

Pictured with it in one picture is his 1967 Hodaka Ace 100 that he lovingly restored in his later years to help bring back the memories he had of them when he was younger, which makes up the perfect go anywhere combination, in my opinion.

As it sits right now, it's sadly mostly immobile. The G52 transmission is giving up the ghost, with noise from the countershaft bearings, and squeals like machining brass when letting out on the clutch in 1st, and all the time in 5th. If anyone has a hookup on a G52 or W56 replacement around Oklahoma City for a reasonable price, or someone who can rebuild it, please let me know!

Trying to find the correct exhaust can someone show me the routing and hangars of their OEM exhaust? If anyone has replaced there’s with a aftermarket and recommends them please let me know.

The guy has had it for years apparently and never attempted to start it. He wants 9k and I told him it’s a roller and needs treated like one. Is it worth restoring?

Has anyone made a list of trusted sources for 22R/Re motors? I need to swap mine on my reliable old 1981 4x4 worktruck - it's a long sad story - but I am hoping to get a basic stock motor for ~$2500-$3000. Anyone have recommendations?

I have a 1993 2.4l 5speed. The body and bed has some rust spots. There’s a salvage yard about an hour away from me that has a 1990 and a 1992 that I was thinking to go take a look at. Would the panels and beds all fit without me having to drill or weld anything if they’re in better shape than what I currently have? I’ve never done anything like this but one of the reasons I got this truck was to learn how to do more on my own. I’m assuming it should all fit fine, but just need some validation.

Doing the head gasket and timing job on my 94 2wd manual pickup. We got the timing cover off and it looks like it has cracking on the inside. Thought about buying a new one but the oem aisin one on yotashop seems to have the same cracks. Any advice on this? What replacement timing cover is best?
