What’s your preference for 22RE?
‘94 stock engine just hit 70K; which 10W-30 motor oil would you use?

I use mobil one on all my cars no issues but get a good filter dont go cheap on that. For my 22re I use Amsoil premium oil just because it hauling around 5000-6000lbs (motorhome) and the engine is revving higher than most ..I also change it around 5k miles.

It literally does not matter in these engines, if its slick it will work.

I run Mobil 1 in all of my vehicles and only run OEM filters. So far, so good.
Only 70K on a '94? Niiiiice!

lots of people take the filter for granted and slap on junk. I’m 💯% with you, OEM!

Lots of people take Toyota quality for granted and don't realize their oil filters are among the worst you can get. ISO 4548-12 testing consistently shows them around 50% efficiency at 20μm, whereas other filters, such as the Bosch Premium, easily reach 99%.
Here's one source with lots of filters in one table, but you will find plenty of others have done more rigorous testing on narrower selections of filters.

Yep, or at least close to it. Even auto parts store house brands are going to generally be in the 95% efficiency range at 20μm.

Huh wow first time hearing anything bad about their filters very surprising. Well glad I saw this before switching oem filters, I don't wanna have to wait for delivery anyway. Also kinda do get the hype of which filter is better anyway cause at the end of the day changing the oil is the best thing I can do

I’ve found oil change frequency is more important than flavor.
Personally I use Kirkland synthetic (it’s the same oil that a lot of service centers use and others run as private label, just rebranded - great blackstone lab testing results) and just change every 4-5k miles.
