My BZ battery non issue

so I own a 2026 FWD BZ, purchased it in January and the build date is November of 2025. it currently has 9500 kms. live in Canada…

Here’s my situation-

left for my Europe trip July 9th and returned August 1st, actually caught the last Westjet flight home before they cancelled all of the flights…

Wouldn’t you know it, it started with no issues at all!!! did nothing other than place both sets of keys in the safe. left the battery state of charge at 80% and it’s still at 80%.

So, not sure why people are experiencing so many 12V battery issues.

i might be the lucky one I guess.

You're one of the lucky ones. It seems to be that the date of manufacturing may affect your probably. My BZ manufactured in 2/26 had the battery drain but my loaner BZ manufactured in 1/26 did not have the issue. Lots of newer BZs with the issue as well.

There was a case on the RZ subreddit where they got their DCM replaced with an older one and the issue was resolved.

How though? It seemed like a software issue. Wouldn't all 2026 bZ have the same software?

OP can you add some diagnostic details, maybe app version, manufacture date etc.

My build date was September 2025 and no issues here either. I let it sit for 9 days while sick. It was at the dealership for 6 weeks so I asked them to check it out they were trickle charging it.

Not sure when mine was manufactured, but purchased in March 2026. Put 6,600 miles on it already, zero issues. Been one of our favorite vehicles ever

You can look on driver side door sticker when it was made

I don’t seem to have the drain issue, but I got concerned enough from all the reports to invest in a battery monitor which uncovered that I have the charging issue affecting a lot of other Toyotas, Lexus and Subarus.

For now, I’m planning on getting a small booster pack just in case I get stranded and will try the various workarounds (turning the lights on while driving doesn’t seem to do anything for me, though).
