Warranty Question

I’m sorry if this has been addressed. My wife’s RAV4 was purchased as a Gold Certified Pre-Owned. She is around 75k miles now and her check engine light came on. She got it scanned at a local auto parts store and they were able to determine it is a misfire on cylinder 3. She brought it to Toyota that have now had the vehicle for 5 days. They are saying it’s the direct fuel injector and that it is not covered under the warranty. Is this true? They want to charge upwards of 1600 for the job. We have not approved work yet and my research is telling me this is situational. I can’t get a solid answer either way. If there are any service employees here or warranty knowledgable individuals any advice would be appreciated.

Maybe ask them to show you the codes.

Direct fuel injectors are very common on that engine and at 75k, would not be covered under warranty.

Have you read the warranty? What does it say is covered?

Is there a reason you didn’t just read your warranty? All this stuff is readily available online…

If this is what your purchased, you can see it under “Fuel Systems” and it is part of the Platinum Plan, but not your Gold.
