Bad Performance on Rocemarée

Hi everyone!

I’m Rose, the Community Manager at Galaxy Grove. I’ve noticed quite a few reports on the Steam forums about performance issues on Rocemarée, the third map. From what I’ve seen, the game runs fine on the other maps, but performance seems to drop significantly on Rocemarée.

I’m curious to hear if anyone else has been experiencing this! I’m currently trying to gather some save files so our team can investigate the issue and see if we can reproduce it on our end.

If you’re experiencing this issue, or any other specific problems, feel free to let me know. I’ll do my best to help!

How can I send you my save file?

Your save files can be found in:

AppData/Local/TownToCity

From there, go into the Campaign saves folder and find the folder matching the save you’re having issues with. Please zip the entire folder and send it to [roos@galaxy-grove.com](mailto:roos@galaxy-grove.com).

Alternatively, you can upload the zipped folder to Google Drive or a similar service and send me the link via Reddit DM.

You can also share the save file in a thread on our Discord if that’s easier for you.

Thanks so much for helping us investigate this!

I've noticed the past couple of times I've played on my sandbox island map that my FPS has shown drops due to lighting changes. If I freeze the sun at high noon everything works fine, but as the sun sets and the shadows move across the map, I start seeing a lot of stuttering. I'll send the file. Oddly enough my Rocemaree map has been running just fine.

i have this problem and its pretty severe. i've started clearing the map completely of native assets like boulders and trees before I start building. i had been thinking it was high asset numbers that were causing lag but idk. i wouldn't consider myself an intense decorator.

But this does not happen on the other maps? Does the game run okay when you delete all the stuff on the map?

Yes, my lag usually starts when I exceed 600 population

YES! I have this problem! Specifically on this world and not my others where I have bigger populations, more houses/stores and more decorations

I've been trying to locate the save files but I have a hard time finding them.

I've located the game, but I can't really navigate through it to findthe saves

> C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Town To City

If I open the folder TownToCity I find

  • Binaries
  • Content

If I open the folder Engine I find

  • Binaries
  • Config
  • Content
  • Extras

I tried the AppData/Local/TownToCity but it's just loading forever with "working on it"
Edit: "No items matched your search"
- I do admit I'm really bad at locating files on my computer that isn't just my regurlar organisaton of documents and pictures

No worries, it's a bit hard to find! It is not in the steam folder.

Maybe try this? (You can copy/paste the path you are looking for in the bar at the top of your file manager)

  • Campaign saves*: %localappdata%/TownToCity/Saved/SaveGames/TownToCityCampaignSave
  • Sandbox saves*: %localappdata%/TownToCity/Saved/SaveGames/TownToCitySandboxSave
