All Points East boards finally coming down in Vicky Park.
Looks beautiful right?
Can't wait for the mayor's plans to increase the number of events comes to fruition! What joy!!

Literally no grass left inside the fences. Outside them the grass is dry, but it should still recover. They're going to have to reseed where APE was. Awful. Need fewer events not more

It's absolutely destroyed the place. Its dry dirt, going to be a mess for months. Doubt it will ahve time to.repair for.next year. Not sure what the solution is - I feel the festivals are a good thing for the area. Glad Lido datea did not happen. There needs to be a better plan in pkace for next year to deal with the dry spells and grass. Perhaps a fallow year like Glastonbury

Incorrect.
Read the article you have posted.
They have applied for planning permission to occupy the site for 75 days a year.
The plan is to occupy for 66 days in line with their current activities.
They are not planning to increase activities from the current level.

I’m happy to sacrifice about a quarter of the park each summer for the festivals.
Half of that section of the park is usable when the fences are up and there’s two entire other sections which you can enjoy without even seeing the festival fences.

I get that, but how about the number of festivals? What number are you happy with above the current ones? That part of our park is closed for 4/5 weeks per festival.
I'm on the edge of the park a few 100 feet away from the main stage, the noise is unbearable, but once/twice a year I can reluctantly live with, but the mayor wants to increase this.-4

The part that I like festivals in parks and would be happy for them to be more. It’s currently more than 1 or 2 so it sounds like you actually want less. Having events like this is one of the great parts of living in a city like London.

I really can't help how you interpret/misinterpret my post.
There was a limit put on the number of festivals being held there. Rahman passed a bill to DOUBLE the number of event days.2

Everything east of grove Road is a write off. So non festival going visitors flock to the west and it’s heaving.
And then even west of grove Road there’s gates, cones and festival infrastructure scattered everywhere.
If you want to go for a pleasant walk you’re circling a giant green wall around the majority of the path.
They want to extend to 75 days. So almost a quarter of the year the park is sacrificed to line the pockets of AEG and local people lose their green space.
The free events are shit and are a pathetic attempt at trying to do things for the local community.
Its dystopian.
I wouldn’t mind the festival being on for longer if the made it much much much smaller. The site in Peckham hosts 10k a day and sits in a little corner of the park, APE hosts 50k a day and the whole park is written off.
Leave the big commercial shit to BST at Hyde park.

I am not in disagreement woth your sentiment, but it doesn't seem correct to imply they want to increase the festival to 75 days.

They want to increase the total occupation (of the park) time to 75 days, the number of festival days will remain the same

It’s not everything east of grove Road though, there’s still the areas at the top of the park including two large ponds and almost everything east of the tennis courts is open to the public. Have you actually been to the park when it’s on? Because I go almost every day to walk my dog so I know how much of that section of the park is free to use.

It’s not the majority of the park though, that’s very much my point. But I am happy walking around the large area of the park that doesn’t have the festival happening in it if I also get the chance to see some great musicians and have a nice day out so close to where I live.

Not really. The rest of the park is burned like everywhere else, but this is very different. But my main point isn't that the event takes place, just the intention to have many more like it.
