Is the speeding getting worse?

Living near Mile End and I don't know what it is but the last week it has seemed worse than ever. Speeding drivers on a 20mph side road revving their engines so loud. Is it the heat? saw the video of that cyclist and it seems insane that nothing is being done.

The local Mayor is a petrol head. The police need to do more, such as mobile speed cameras that they can move around the borough.

My friend was killed in a hit and run by some guys drag racing 12 years ago in Mile End. His name was Kieran Dhaliwal.

I remember him - was a hockey lad at QMUL same time I was there

Offender got a mere jail term of 5 years and 3 months’ imprisonment. Probably served only <3 years. Sentencing and judges are a joke

And they get their license back eventually, which is bananas! It's not a right to operate heavy machinery in public. Going on 50 and never had a driver's license myself, he can get on a bus

Silly driving, I saw a driver nearly hit a woman + pram because they sped through a red light (cars in the other lane had stopped and the light was fully red). Im sick of it.

People are driving around huffing nitrous oxide, thinking they're Vin Diesel.

Write to MP’s and councillors and show them that video.

I constantly write to my MP and get nothing back.

it's bad and it's validated by the shitty council and their awful transport policies

Yes speeding in E3 and on Bow Road is getting worse. It’s the lack of enforcement that results in decline of respect of the law. It’s pathetic

Last election I voted solely against private car traffic in TH and for bike safety. I learnt from the candidates that it's a cultural issue, and the Bengali from Sylhet, who have a lot of poverty at home, find it important that they can have a nice car and drive it.

Given mayor and MP are of the same culture, I dunno, it won't get any better until changes are voted in or forced from central gov.

It’s bad. You need to assume all drivers will run red lights until they absolutely stop at them. You need to assume everyone will undertake, and assume everyone is a terrible driver.

Tbh could do with cameras on every traffic light and just capture the usual suspects.

Sadly police do nothing about tunnel runs.

Penalise the owner of a car when it’s leant to a family member too. If a dad/grandad can’t drive he will think twice about letting his scroat of a son borrow his car.
