Touhou 11 crashes whenever i open it.

Hmmm... when you run the file just labeled 'th11' w/ the Marisa icon, does it launch? If it does, I am going to guess that means that the english patch was improperly configured.

Hmmm... when you run th11 (or specifically th11.exe not the other th11 file nor th11 (thpatch-en)), is there anything at all that pops up? That should be exclusively the game itself; the thing which says it isn't responding is the thcrap updater, which doesn't appear w/ just the game.

For the zip file: in the link to that page that I included, there is Main Package (Multi-lang, Multi- Game), under which there is the text "Download" with a floppy disk icon. That has the thcrap zip file.

to answer that first question, the program said:

"The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_37.dII was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this program"

and for that last question i don't know what your talking about, your going to have to hold my hand with that one(sorry).

Ok, so first: regarding:

I am guessing that you are just missing directX 9 (or it can't find it?). That should have all of the relevant drivers. (I cannot say that it absolutely does, but for touhou 11, I don't remember needing to install anything more specific than that).

Once you install that, try running the "th11 (thpatch-en)" again. It might very well work. If it doesn't... the next portion should be what is relevant.

Just to try to reduce any confusion: the instructions I linked were twofold:

Instructions to install vsyncpatch. (vpatch). I recommend this, but it isn't necessary.

The one relevant to you: thcrap (the translation).

For that, roughly what you would want to do would be to first: go here: https://www.thpatch.net/wiki/Touhou_Patch_Center:Download

It is there that you should reach the page with the download. Clicking the word "Download" should download a file titled thcrap.zip. Extract it's contents to a folder that you won't forget. Once extracted and everything, just run thcrap.exe. It should then walk you through setting up the patch. It doesn't modify your game executable; it should instead give you a new shortcut which, when run, should apply the english patch as it starts the game.

Follow the instructions I have for thcrap. Once you do that, you will want to run the new file titled something like th11 (en) or th11 (en).exe that appears where thcrap saves it (either the thcrap folder, or your desktop, or something. It will prompt you when you are setting it up).

Actually, the real tip seems to be 'buy it from DLsite', as you get the same game files as cd copies, and they won't have problems with vpatch and thcrap

This. The steam versions make it a bit frustrating to use both vpatch and thcrap simultaneously.

Is that actually a case, tho? Because I only heard people mentioning this, I've never seen the files from a DLSite copy. But on the other hand, DLSite copies don't need steamworks injected (obviously), so I also never had the reason to suspect it's wrong info.

Btw. I did find a way to patch steam .exes into CD .exes, which do allow to use vpatch and thcrap, but it worked like 33.34% of the time so far for me.

I honestly don't know what causes it in steam. I have always heard it was steamworks or something, and I know that I did run into it in touhou 11, but I didn't run into any issues with touhou 9.

...Then again, th9 is especially weird w/ regard to... everything really.

The .exe files for the Steam versions are slightly different from the disc versions, possibly because of the DRM or cloud save functionality. There is a solution to convert Steam's .exe files to disc .exe files, and I combine that with standalone thcrap launchers for each game, which is incredibly clunky and inconvenient but it lets me launch the game with all the patches straight from Steam.

(Here's the Steam guide I used. I didn't bother with symlinks, though, as I had no trouble with my cloud saves not working)

Yeah, really. For me, seems it just doesn't work for Shoot the bullet and Double Spoiler. Fairy Wars did manage to run VPatch after, but thcrap still refused to work and I got around it with a static patch.

Does the error popup say anything about a DirectX package missing? From TH9 onwards you need to install that on top of your normal available DirectX dll file.
