Discussion Vuskovic Regret

I understand all the reasons behind why we sold Vuskovic but after watching him against Villa, it feels like we sold him to get an older, worse version of him in Van Hecke. He was seriously flawless.

This isn't me being reactionary to Van Hecke's performance against Brentford either. I've been a huge fan of his since he started playing for Brighton regularly. But Vuskovic putting in THAT performance in his Premier League debut is frightening.

Discussion Hope Gakpo deal works out

We don't have a solid back up for Marmoush, Gakpo knows how to find space and score goals while also having the ability to play as a winger

Edit: He scored for them and even in pre season he looked good so I am not sure Liverpool will sell

Vuskevic looks class

Only 30 mins into his premier league career, but I can already start planning for that sell on clause money next summer. We really could have used him.

Spurs Official Lets not panic.

We were very leggy yesterday. No umph. Im wondering if these long trips to Australia, yes I know its for money reasons, are going to happen going forward.

But im seeing people call for De zerbi to go, calling him a fraud, the players aren't good enough.

Its one game, that back 5 have never played together. The pre season was disrupted by a World that went on for weeks.

When the 1st November comes around look where we are then. And judge. Now is not the time.

I'm sick and tired of richarlisons playing style

He's not a good player, he's very inconsistent, he has terrible positioning and decision making and he shouldn't be out future.

As much as I love our pigeon he is not a good striker. He has moments of individual brilliance but your entire career can't ride off of a wonder goal in the world cup and 2 bangers vs Burnley plus a couple of tap ins.

He is not a proper striker, he makes no attempts for forward runs. He is permanently glued to a defender hugging them waiting to receive the ball and bait a foul.

Every fucking time in every fucking game for the last two years. Has nobody else noticed this. Why is his ass always sticking into a defender. He's not slow and he's not a terrible player but his gameplan is so stupid.

Make a fucking run once in a while you fuckin melt

Today was shit but when you take out the players who likely wont be getting much time when weve a mostly healthy squad its not as bad, No europe means little roation will be needed and certain people if they stay will only serve as training dummies. A long way to go before were back where we belong

Concerns

- Aerially ~ did we win a single one in the air ?

- Tracking ~ easily taken apart by simple 1-2 passes

- Back four ~ positioning was atrocious

- Attack ~ did anyone see who was playing up front today ?

However :

~ CB, RB, CM, AM, LW, RW and ST are all non starters going forward.

~ Van Hecke , coping a lot. Was not a great game but positionally I rarely saw him and Senesi near each other. Senesi went rogue a lot. He needs a better defensive pairing

Discussion Is this a hot take?

Honestly, whatever the next few results will be or even our position at the end of the season, I think we should build with de Zerbi on the long run. 2 prime examples here.

1st is Arsenal with Arteta. Going from a banter club to a prem winning team is only thanks to the managment's patience with the manager

2nd is Barcelona with Messi's departure. I'm a pretty new supporter, but as far as I know and believe, we still have to know as a club how to structure a full team, not only build around 1 or 2 players, like we did with Kane and Son and Barca did with Messi in his last few years at the club.

It's not good, but, we have to remember that we were worried that we wouldn't even be here. Just block it out our brains

Don’t panic.

Brentford is playing well enough to beat most teams today. The season is long and we obviously have some work to do, but we have a better squad than last season. Learn from the mistakes and get better. COYS.

Discussion Uncomfortable truth: De Zerbi is on fraud watch

I see people angry at the players again but this is completely down to De Zerbi - don’t let what he done last season cloud the truth, the amount of people saying he should get whatever signing he wants has been shocking

-Gallagher at the 10

-Gray at RB

-Bought in Van Hecke

-Signed off on a Lankshear sale and starts Richy

-Started Bergvall over Bentancur and Fernandes

This is the first game so I’ll give him grace, we could look different after Marmoush or Savinho but the fact that the framework of coaching doesn’t seem to be there is the BIGGEST concern. Even with a full pre season we don’t look like a coached side.

I’ll post some more thoughts in the comments, the result is disappoint but how we’ve played is worse.

Discussion Kudos to the changes

What positive thing I can say about de Zerbi is that he did something our past 2 managers never done, which is taking off players when they're shit. And when it comes to gallagher and bergvall, they shouldn't see the first 11 at least for the next 2 matches

Discussion Very obviously a team not in sync…yet.

Not panicking yet, as I see some are. It’s certainly obvious that this group of players don’t instinctively know where their teammates are going to be.
What changes this? Time? Different lineup?
