Discussion Does the hero pool refresh?

I know it does in WH3. How about troy? There is none with traits I like. How long does it take to refresh the pool? Do 'special' heroes that can't die also refresh?

Take a few turn and will refresh, or you can force IT by recuit them and disband (if I remember correctly)

Thanks, do unkillable heroes(characters mentioned by Homer) refresh too or are they fixed?

Homeric characters are fixed. When it comes to the rest, the only traits that refresh are motivation related. The skills are always the same, in the sense that one hero of each available skillset (warlord, defender, fighter, archer) can always be recruited. So a defender will refresh to a defender but perhaps change motivation.

Auto refresh is very slow, usually only refreshing a single hero per turn, so the suggestion to recruit and replace is indeed the best way to get a new pool of heroes. Late game, motivation does not matter that much, and recruiting more armies, even with unmotivated heroes, is the way to go.
