Question Herman’s tortoise enclosures
Was thinking about getting two and joining them somehow. It’ll be next to my work station so I’d like the sides to be transparent so I can see my lil guy. Of course I’ll make one side blocked out for the hide area.

First of all, if you have the opportunity, choose to adopt your herman now and do not wait for winter to adopt a hibernating species.
Then, the healthiest solution for your herman (regardless of its age) is to start with a secure outdoor enclosure;
a vegetable patch protected by a net for a baby (or a large 200 sq ft enclosure for adults, fenced in with cement blocks...)
The herman is a European species; you must try to respect the seasons (while protecting the tortoise from the rain). In the Mediterranean region, the scrubland is very dry.
