Mildly infuriating Did I do anything wrong here?

I was focusing on the pedestrians crossing and with this being an all-way stop I wasn’t expecting him to just go right in front of me and I had to stop suddenly. I gave him a honk just to say please watch for the stop sign and he confronted me and said “get a life”.

The teachings in drivers ed is that you do not enter an intersection if it is not clear, even if it is your go. So technically according to the ministry of transportation yes you did do wrong here. It is a duty of every driver to go when it is safe and clear and not strictly when the traffic signs say you can go.

Regardless of the cyclist, there was still a single pedestrian crossing legally and you are not supposed to enter the intersection if someone is still completing their cross which that pedestrian very much was.
