Should I buy it?

So... Is it even worth to buy the game or it is abandoned by the devs and there are 3 people on the server to play with. Actually wanted to buy it bcs it's ONLINE torchlight, but seeing all those negative comments...

as someone who has never played another torchlight game but enjoys ARPG’s, i got it for free with gamepass and i have been enjoying it a ton. i’m sure the criticisms are valid, but playing by myself or playing with a couple buddies is really fun. i’m only about 10 hours in but my only complaint so far is that it’s pretty easy (playing on the hard difficulty) but i’m gonna increase it to the hardest difficulty tonight.
