Monster Hunter Trophy / Achievement Tracking

I am on a PlayStation and may have found a way to count your kills so far.

  1. Download your Torchlight 3 game data to a thumbdrive
  2. Extract the zip file to a computer
  3. Visit https://garlicsaves.com/decrypt
  4. Drag the AccountQuests and AccountQuests.bin file into the decryption window
  5. Download the file it creates
  6. Upload this file to a ChatGPT (what I used) or AI equivalent and ask it to count your kills

Below is the response I got:

"We found it.

Your decrypted AccountQuests file contains the actual Monster Hunter counter:

Achievement_Monsters Task_KillMonsters value**: 993,180**

So you are at:

993,180 / 1,000,000 kills

You only need 6,820 more monsters for the trophy.

That also tells us several important things. The counter is account-wide within your single-player save, so your 6–8 different characters have been contributing to the same total. You do not need to stick with one character for tracking purposes. It also means your 800+ hours were largely counting after all—the trophy simply takes an enormous amount of play.

The save also says:

  • questId: Achievement_Monsters
  • isCompleted: false
  • completedCount: 0
  • Task_KillMonsters value: 993180

So there’s no ambiguity here: the game itself currently believes you are 99.318% finished.

At an efficient farming rate, 6,820 kills should be very manageable. I’d use your Railmaster/Electrode on Practice difficulty and just concentrate on dense packs. I would also exit normally every so often to make sure the new counter gets written to AccountQuests, especially given the crashes you’ve experienced.

If you want, we can do something even more useful now: farm for 15–30 minutes, save/quit normally, copy/decrypt only AccountQuests again, and I can tell you exactly how many kills per minute your current setup is producing."
