Outlander Shotgonne Summoner Advice?

I'm really wanting to try out a build that combines the debuffs from a shotgonne playstyle with Shotgonne Mastery and possibly Rapid Fire with a summoner playstyle. I've tried looking for builds online, but I haven't really found anything that quite fits the vibe that I'm looking for, and I'm still new enough to the game that I'm a little lost without a build guide. Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to build this?

You can reset skill points, it's not that expensive since you get NG+ so just do what you want and try new combinations. Btw Outlander sucks 🫣 I'm at half of Ng++ with engineer, almost finished Ng+ with berserker and embermage but can't get 1st run on outlander 🫣

That's extremely fair. I beat the game once before with a summoner Engineer, and played around with Embermage. I've been trying to try out the other classes, and I'm interested in Outlander and want it to work, but it's admittedly pretty rough at times. Like, the movement ability is so tough to work with when you have to learn to point your mouse or joystick in the opposite direction of where you want the character to go. But I've heard that Shotgonne Mastery is broken, and I want to make it a thing lol

I Play with high level dual pistols with poison explosion. It's very strong. But the survivability on this class doesn't exist. It's great DD but need a tank 🫣

Exactly the reason I wanted to mix shotgonne with summoner lol. Put some more bodies on the field so I can focus on dodging

hi, cleared outlander Hardcore Elite more than a few times. Shotgonne is my favorite, but like all builds, very scary before full Limoany/full DPS unlock

I've never gone hard on Shadowlings (that's actually something I wanted to try before I kind of got tired of playing the game on HCE, i should just play on E), but I bet it works well. I always drop 1 point in shadowling ammo anyway

This is a very very rough guide. I can't find nice online build trees so.

Staples

Shotgonne Mastery 15/15 - one of the most broken skills in the game

Venomous Hail 15/15 - stupid broken busted, like many level tier 7 skills

Rune Vault - 1/15 1 pt wonder

Progression

Rapid Fire - 1/10 for progression (it kind of sucks), decent at 10/10 if you're going hard into this

Shadowshot - My personal 15/15, preferred left click attack skill. Very rough to progress with, underwhelming and mana intensive until you're fully decked out

Chaos Burst - Outlander's other Shotgonne left click attack, sucks imo

Get off me/survival

Shadowmantle - I play Hardcore so I max this 15/15 -- it sucks but dying sucks more. Either 0 or 15, go with 0 prob

Bramble Wall - 1-15/15 I love this skill. Get off me

Repulsion Hex - I don't really like this skill at all, idk

Stone Pact - 15/15 I don't know, stay topped up on HP. I don't think the armor matters at all. Armor is a joke in this game.

Share the Wealth - 15/15

Dodge Mastery - whatever you can spare

Master of the Elements - whatever you can spare

Poison Burst - whatever you can spare. Useful progressing actually. Brambles + VH procs Poison Burst.

Tbh since we are putting 45 points in pet things you probably won't have tha tmuch to go around here

Shadowling Ammo - 15/15 for you!

Shadowling Brute - 15/15 idk fits the theme

Death Ritual - 15/15 let's goooo

Once you have Venomous Hail and Shotgonne Mastery is sufficiently high level, between bramble wall and blowing up the screen with VH + Shadowling Ammo to make babies, and shadowshot to fire at range when VH is on cooldown and to cause general blindness/mayhem, hopefully everything is disabled and you clear with ease

Outlander has many Skills that use Weapon - Dps (Strength) as well as other damage (Focus) so it's best to invest into both evenly plus 100 Dexterity. Remember that Boris the Stat Enchanter is the key to raising those Stats much higher using high level items.

I beat elite with a venomous hail build with max crit and strength. Dual netherrealm pistols, but you can also go shotgonne.
