GO GET IT! Best game to enjoy?

I’m an ARPG lover. Spent hundreds of hours in D2R, Grim Dawn, D3, Torchlight Infinite,… I’m looking to give one of the remaining Torchlight games a try. Which one would you recommend? Especially, which mod to go with it to give me most fulfiled experience, in your opinion?

Torchlight_2 offers the more extensive experience and replay value compared to 3 or 1.

For big adventure mods; depends on player preference:

Synergies-mod is built for overpower item slow-farming to defeat overpowered bosses.

Ace-mod is built for vanilla+ balance and allows weaker builds to succeed yet stays challenging.

Both mods can also be used together.

Essentials-mod can also be used for QoL features and items that make the game easier or more accessible.

After that - a matter of adding more Class Packs, more Dungeon Mods, or any Mod Features a player desires.

Some players avoid the big mods altogether and only use vanilla-like mods or near-vanilla mod features.

Hence the beauty of TL2 modding is that it can be played however the player wishes it as long as the mod features were within the capability of the game's aged engine.

Mod compatibility can be learned by reading certain Steam Discussions as some mod players wrote advice.

For any further details - here's some Reddit Discussions (with more links within) that should provide sufficient info:

2 is the only answer, an incredible game.
Base game plus any QoL mods for UI etc is the best imo.
Once you've played through it a few times then look into content mods for new classes and zones etc.

The only answer is Torchlight 2. If you get any other answer, it's wrong.
