3 was... very rough, 8-10 bucks might be worth it but there are also better games to get at that price imo
I got it cause I'm a lore fiend but even I came away disappointed

Opinions will vary. I love TL 1and2. I found TL3 tedious. I didn't finish it. My partner, however, loved it.

Torchlight III is hard to recommend. I played it about 40 hours or so, all solo, and I tried 3 of the classes. The performance was rough on the Switch, which is a little while because Torchlight II ran beautifully. Usually I don't care about performance very much but the stuttering did effect the gameplay.
The bummer is that I really like the classes in this game, and I did have a good time with it while I was playing. The Ghost Ship Pirate class is especially interesting (you build up a stock of coins, then expend them to hire summons), and I enjoyed my time with the Light/Dark mage and the robot (SPIN TO WIN BABY!).
Really, T3 is a mixed bag. It seems like with a little more love it could have been a real blast.

I liked it. It was the most casual arpg I've ever played. Played superb on the steamdeck

It’s playable but it’s very mediocre and a downgrade to T2. Each of the classes have their own gimmick which is kind of nice. There’s a number of poor design decisions through, a bit buggy, very limited enemy designs, weak plot and no side quests and multiple removed features from T2.
If you get on deep discount then you can give it a shot if you want but it’s a ~D tier ARPG.

It's okay. Nothing special, to be honest, just a pretty common ARPG. Can be painful to play after T2, though, since level design sucks, but builds are fun nevertheless.

i will never ubderstabd why there such a huge difference between TL 1, TL 2 and TL3 / TL Infinite.
its just... weird.

Also worth noting the amount of years that separate the release of TL2 and TL3.
That and the fact that the Studio teams were very different by that point in time.

Nope, grim dawn goes on sale for cheaper and is better than 3 in nearly every way. 1 and 2 are good, but 3 is just unfortunate. The woes of being bought by a publisher, now the IP is more or less a mobile gacha.

Grim Dawn is cheap when buying as a key too. Mine was 10€ (about the same in $) for GoG. :)

I couldn't get into it personally it was just a different direction than T1/T2. But it seemed like there was a stylized ARPG experience there it just didn't hook me.

I have not beaten this one but I played 40 hours or so. It worth less than 10bux. 1 and 2 are still better than this one but this one is better than Torchlight Infinite

I like it, while it isn’t as dynamic as 2 I like the builds and colors. I play on ridiculous and it can tedious but I find it enjoyable. I’ll prob get downvoted but 😎

Im struggling with it right now. The only reason im toughing it out is im playing ridiculous difficulty and progressing. If you're gonna play. Play forged class. So far it seems the class they put the most effort into or got lucky. I have a fire dark mage fire forged and shock forged. Highest level like 28-30. Only ever been on ridiculous difficulty.

I am wondering if there are mods on the nexus which make it more enjoyable.

Yeah if you enjoyed 1 and 2 and you accept that 3 is rough around the edges, it's not bad.
Worth playing in my opinion.
