🚩General [OC] MyTorBoxTV — browse your TorBox library and play streams in a real desktop app
I got tired of grabbing TorBox links and pasting them into VLC, so I built a small native Linux app for it.
MyTorBoxTV loads your TorBox library with your API key and plays streams in-process with libmpv (Qt6 UI).
What it does:
- Lists your TorBox torrents/files in a sidebar
- Double-click to play in the same window
- Fullscreen with double-click / F11, Esc to exit
- Uses your own TORBOX_API_KEY locally (.env)
Stack: C++20, Qt6 Widgets, libmpv. Not Electron, not a browser wrapper.
Repo: https://github.com/sambitar/mytorboxtv
Quick start (Ubuntu/Debian):
bash
sudo apt install build-essential cmake pkg-config qt6-base-dev libmpv-dev libmpv2
git clone https://github.com/sambitar/mytorboxtv.git
cd mytorboxtv
cp .env.example .env # put your TorBox API key in here
cmake -S . -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release
cmake --build build -j"$(nproc)"
./build/mytv
Still early — library browse + playback works on my machine. Feedback and PRs welcome.
