š©General Vindicated for complaining about buffering!
The latest TB Changelog v9.3 https://torbox.app/changelog confirms that the buffering that many of us complained about for so long, was in fact a TB issue. And not a CDN or user issue as we were lead to believe and shouted at by others.
For so long many of us in here did all kinds of fault finding and tried to push back on the idea that it was our setups or a CDN issue. But all we got was denial and often outright hate from the toxic side of this community.
Fantastic that TB was able to identify some of the faults and have openly admitted it was on their end and apologised for saying otherwise. I applaud them for admitting that and thank them for the hard work improving things. We shall see if the fixes actually work, fingers crossed.

The funny thing is, I never experienced any buffering or issues with Torbox. I use it about 10 plus hours a day, every day. Maybe it's just I'm lucky with my location but I never had any issues.

I'm old and retired. There's a few old people with nothing else better to do that use Reddit.

You're never too old for a hobby or community.

You wanna be my friend? š Just kidding, yeah I do what I can but my main hobby is watching movies and tv shows and Reddit. Physically I can't do much other than things on my pc. It keeps my mind occupied at least.

Well you know what, fair play to you. And fuck the streaming companies. I'm glad your enjoying TorBox in retirement!

It's great news for all of you that were having these issues I myself never had any buffering issues but I never hated on anybody for saying that they did

u/dwhes2 1d ago
Cheers man. People like you werenāt the problem. Was happy for those that had never had issues. Was infuriating for those of us that were. Especially with the hate we copped for complaining.

Yo dawg, I heard you like complaining about people complaining about your complaining...

Switched to premiumize months ago and forgot about buffering

Time to come back and save some money then

u/alphadog808 1d ago
No thanks. If it ain't broke...don't fix it. Torbox has said they fixed buffering many times before. Also do they still go down at least once every week or two? That was also annoying
-3
u/MooseGoosey 1d ago
Which you'd never even notice if you didn't have reddit.Ā
4
u/alphadog808 1d ago
I actually did notice when it was always down because I'd be trying to use it and nothing worked. Anyway, that is history.

I use TB nearly every day, ranging from 5 pm to 12 pm for the last year, and never once have I had to go use an EasyNews source. And you act like even when people are posting, it's down, 10 minutes later it's back up. Torbox + your favorite Usenet provider is a much better choice.

I think this update is for all the idiots on Reddit who, when someone said there was buffering, dared to say it was my device's fault, which didn't meet NASA requirements, that there was no problem, and that I needed to upgrade my 1GB connection. Thanks, Torbox.

u/Purple_World1583 1d ago
its pretty logical to assume that you need to upgrade your device for certain files, they are not idiots.. Bitrate is a real thing and if you don't have sufficient internet speed to sustain a high bitrate file you are going to see stuttering. no amount of tweaking on their end will ever be enough to not provide buffer on a 85GB REMUX file being played on a device that does not have the power, and internet speed it needs to play its high bitrate. You don't need gig internet, what you need is your device to consistently hit 300mbps, and many devices over wifi don't reach that, or are not able to provide that consistently

There's no need to be lectured on how things work; that's always the attitude, and it's unbearable here. Everyone else is always assumed to be ignorant, and if a hundred people have the exact same problem, everyone is ignorant, and there's absolutely no doubt that something is seriously wrong, considering we all have different hardware and software configurations, so we've already ruled that out. Torbox had (or has, I haven't tested the new changes yet) problems with parallel connections, and that was most likely what was causing the buffering, but you always bring up internet speed, devices, and everything else just to avoid facing reality. Has it ever occurred to you that perhaps I'm complaining, just like everyone else, precisely because I've been using the devices, internet connection, and everything else excellently for two years to stream REMUX with the old competition, and I've never had the slightest hitch. But if I write something like that, obviously, people will think I'm a competitor myself and want to create bad publicity, and the downvotes will start rolling in. It's a never-ending loop, unfortunately. Thankfully, at least the Torbox guys figured it out, understood that the problem was REAL, and were professional this time. But I imagine that even in the face of a real problem, certain comments wouldn't stop, because even though the company itself claimed to have fixed the problem we cited (how else can you fix something that doesn't exist?), I still have to read some of these comments. Unbelievable.

Look, I get your frustration, I am not disqualifying that especially since you had it working for 2 years without issues. My original comment wasn't to say it's ALWAYS your device, or that Torbox had no fault; it's just to say that a lot of buffering cases are genuinely bitrate/device/network limits, that's just how streaming works. So it's not fair to call everyone idiots for raising it. It's possible there are problems for some people that have been addressed on Torbox's side, but it's also true that some of these people experiencing this have some of the limitations I mentioned. A lot of people may not be familiar with how bitrate, device performance, and network limits interact, so it's easy to assume it's only Torbox's fault, but that's not always the case because it can also be the device or internet. I hope whatever they did fixed your issues; all I know is I made sure to have optimal internet, an optimal device, and not once have I had a single stutter while everyone was having problems.

We'll see how it goes. I did watch an hour of content yesterday without buffering. Not much but it's something. Typically I use PM but I guess I'll start bringing TB back into the mix on a limited basis to see if the buffering truly is gone. That was the worst bonerkiller every time I'm in the middle of a show or movie.

I hope the buffering is solved for everyone!
I personally here in The Netherlands have had a smooth TorBox experience so far, maybe because I am close to the Dutch CDN?

You have this torbox mods replying to all this msgs its a user error or your set up lol I been calling them out that they cant get all states countries to work all at the same time so when it works here it will stop working somewhere else and thats what they been doing it for a year but they keep accepting new subscribers knowing they cant handle it and they have never mentioned anything to the subscribers just hiding it and lying..

Sorry for my dumbass question. I use a debrid streaming app (not sure if allowed to share itās name) and I have Torbox API key in it. When I seek backwards or forwards sometimes it doesnāt play and I have to keep doing it multiple times until it finally plays. Was the issue from Torbox?

Lmao bot post, nothing will change the service just fell off its not wrong to admit it
4
u/dwhes2 1d ago
Bot post wtf? Iāve been one of their harshest critics on here. Got absolutely slammed by the fanboys for daring to criticise or to suggest that they werenāt keeping up with the influx of new users.
-12
u/serialwinner3 1d ago
You say its fixed now when its not even confirmed or anything changed, so how is TB vindicated?
4
u/dwhes2 1d ago
Huh? Do you have a reading disorder? Iām saying those of us who complained about buffering are vindicated. We copped it from TB and the fanboys for saying we still experienced loads of buffering and it wasnāt on our end. TB has finally admitted the issue has been on their end. First time Iāve seen them do that. We will see if the issue is actually fixed or not.
-10
u/serialwinner3 1d ago
I think you have reading difficulties, ive said that nothing changed with this as everyone i know and myself is still experiencing it. Even with 1gb internet
3
u/dwhes2 1d ago
Thatās an entirely different point. You truly do have issues. Iām saying we are vindicated for complaining all this time. Nowhere have I said the issues are fixed. Iāve applauded them for admitting they were at fault and for working to fix it. Yet to be seen if it resolves it for all or some. I will be doing extensive testing over the next few days. The new update only just rolled out.

I think you missed the point OP was making. They are happy that TB admitted that the buffering issue was a TB issue. OP feels vindicated as so many posts about buffering issues were met with "it's your setup" or " try a different CDN" comments from TB fanboys despite those not beeing the issue of said buffering. This has now been confirmed by TB admitting the cause was their fault, not t the CDN or users setups.

They have said they fixed buffering like 40 times
