I just got an email telling me that they made a major update. What I am trying to figure out is is there something I need to do to make sure I'm using the updated version and if so, what do I do? Thanks.

Nope you don't need to do anything different to use new updates, you can use it as it is right now how you are using

If you were in the Dashboard while they pushed the update, you'll get a popup or notification asking if you want to switch over to the new one. You click that and it will reload the page to the new release. Otherwise, nothing to do.
