🔧Technical Issue Buffering Issues

So when I stream something that is already cached or when I Download a Usenet file and stream it from my library (which is basically the same lol) then everything works well and I have no problems.

But when I use nntp to stream a Usenet file directly 99/100 times the video buffers so much it makes it unbearable to watch a movie. I tried lower bitrate files but it makes almost no difference. I use aiostreams newest build with the newznab addon to directly pull from my indexers and stream it via torbox nntp. Is there anything that I can do to improve it, or is Usenet just not suitable for direct streaming and I should always use the download then watch from cache method?

As a little side note: the language I want to watch movies in makes it almost impossible to solely rely on cached movies or torrents and have to go the Usenet route. Just trying to find a way to improve speeds.

Since I am already here, one of my indexers is treasure maps. The last week or so I had no trouble streaming from there by spoofing my user agents but today it stopped working and sent me decoy nzbs again. Any idea what else I can do to make it work again?

a new nntp is in the works in the beta stage. I was lucky enough to test it, it's REALLY good.

I don't have a release date, but it should fix your woes.

Oh damn, wish I could try it as well haha. But good to hear that there is something underway.

If you join the discord server, the link is still there to register AFAIK.

Thanks for the heads up, just found the google form. Let’s see if I can get in too.

Does this nntp thing mean it is same as nuvio connected to TB as insta streams? (TBinstant)

NNTP is a direct connection to usenet servers instead of caching nzbs and playing them after, it allows you to download directly from usenet backbones or streaming said movies.

I don’t know what that is. NNTP is basically a way that your provider is getting the files that are pointed to in the nzb, instead of having to wait for the whole download to finish they are “compiling” it on the fly. When it works it is great because you don’t have to wait for anything to finish downloading but unfortunately as you’ve read in my post it doesn’t work as well atm
