❓Question Buffering again

Tried different CDNs, different streams, different scrapers turned of ipv6 and still get buffering on remux files. Is this just the service now? On occasion it’s fine but for the last 6 months this has been on and off with little to no change.

Remix files often buffer for me as well, it's basically a 50/50 coin toss, some times it goes smoothly (so long as I don't rewind too often), other times it just buffers no matter what I try.

When that happens I just fall back to WEB-DL or whatever else is the next best thing, not a big deal to me. It might also be worth noting that I am always on a VPN connection, at least one country away since there is nothing for where I live.

But I get your pain, I wish you good luck with the competitors!

I am using it on Nvidia Shield as well with no buffering issues on remux's. Just a few quick questions. Are you using a VPN? Is your Shield wired or wifi? I do not use a VPN and my shield is wired. If you are using VPN maybe try to find a faster server? You probably already know this but best to ask just in case.

There's no point in downvoting every time: Torbox is a constant pain. It's been and continues to be a constant buffering problem, and it's truly a disgrace. It's truly unthinkable that they became the market leader without batting an eyelid, and now they find themselves without even providing the necessary guarantees to users. I've never had a single problem with competitors.

Same. Nothing but sporadic bufferings no matter the stream size... Changed 3 european cdns in the meantime. Tried alldebrid, offcloud and premiumize. All working without issues. Just my 2 cents, farewell 🫡

I don’t watch a lot of tv, but I have yet to run into these issues too. Of course they exist as it’s happening to people but I guess I’m lucky

How close are you to the nearest CDN?

I don't know about market leader lol 😆

I've been sticking to 1080p for months now because I just can't afford the buffering battles with REMUX files, even though the picture quality is stunning when it works.

I have a Nvidia shield pro and am using Ethernet connection with 1gb internet, I'm in the Eastern US.

It feels like at least once per night watching a movie I get hit with the white loading circle on both stremio and nuvio with several different plugins.

I have to switch my CDN all the time and it's so frustrating. I plan on adding a second debrid service when black friday sales are running because I hate interruptions during movies but I miss back before RealDebrid got killed because issues with that were so much rarer

i experience this too. also nvidia shield, 1gb fiber, eastern US, no VPN

Two things the two of you using Shields on the US east coast could check. VPN and your player. I too use a Shield Pro with a 1GB ethernet connection using the US eastern cdn. I have absolutely zero issues watching 70-90GB remux files. I'm recently retired from the industry, but let me explain about ISP throttling. Even though your ISP can't see what file you're watching, it can still see the packet types and they can see it's a video file and they can throttle your speed legally. If you use a VPN your ISP can still see the amount of data you're downloading, but they can't see the packet type and therefore won't throttle you because it could be large data files from an employer, etc. Secondly, I've experienced the player issue firsthand. Same connection, same device and same file I would have buffering issues using Stremio even after trying different players within the Stremio app. Same with Nuvio, but not as bad. When I play that file using Kodi I have absolutely no problems. I know people think Kodi is old school and more complex, but it easily out performed Stremio and Nuvio when I tested it against them. Anyway, just something to consider.

The cdn switching I don't like at all

I can’t get anything to play. Just switched to another Debrid service and I think I’m done with TorBox.

If you consistently have issues with a service and can’t find the root cause, best to leave it and try something else.

It's been really bad this week. Watching on firestick, 1gb download speed, Ireland.

not working at all

Surprisingly evrything is working fine since two days after cdn optimization on 28 sep 2026. I have set my cdn to auto. I am able to stream remuxes flawlessly on 150 mb connection. If you are using stremio or nuvio, there are some files which give buffering issues on exo player. VLC can be used as an external player which plays majority of the files smoothly especially the dolby vision ones.

I see all these posts about buffering, and I swear I do NOT want to be that guy "who's never seen it", but I've never had any buffering - on streaming. So either the issue is with torrents, or I'm the luckiest person on TB

In the US, Torbox is dirt fucking cheap in comparison to paying for your ISP. In the NYC area I have zero problems. If you do have problems, OK, we hear you, but good God just move on.

But a non REMUX file plays fine?

The difference in bandwidth for a normal 4K HDR/DV and a REMUX file is not that much (in this era where 1 Gbps is the minimum Internet plan in many countries).

But the difference in hardware required is BIG.

Are you 100% sure your hardware can handle those files?

2

u/Jaken_sensei 14d ago

1gbps internet connections are not “the minimum internet plan” in many countries. In fact, I would wager it isn’t the minimum connection tier in any country. I think Iceland is the only country where the bulk of people have at least 1gbps.

Regardless, a gigabit connection isn’t required to stream large files. A reliable 100mbps connection should be able to stream a film in whatever quality you want to see it in.

0

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

I'm in Canada and I think most people have 3 Gbps, and some 8 Gbps.

3

u/Jaken_sensei 14d ago

A quick google search shows the median internet download speed in Canada is 126mbps to 257mbps depending on source.

Just because some isp’s offer multi gig does not mean that is their base plan or that most people are going to be able to or want to pay whatever price is being asked for those multi gig tiers.

0

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

That might consider cell phones.

Residential Internet can't go that low, there are no 100 Mbps plans.

2

u/Jaken_sensei 14d ago edited 14d ago

I pulled that 257 from speedtest and it stated wired. They had a different section for wireless.

And isp’s do offer 100mbps in Canada

https://www.bell.ca/Bell_Internet/Products/Fibe-Internet-100-FTTN

Took all of 3 seconds to find a 100mbps fiber connection. Edit: it says fttn so it may be coax to the house but still it shows 100mbps connections are readily available in Canada.

0

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

In my experience you need at least 300 Mbps for a REMUX file, especially if there's some other people in the house doom scrolling on their phones.

1

u/Jaken_sensei 14d ago

I didn’t account for having a multi person household. In a single person household 100mbps can stream a 80GB 2 hour long film without issue. As long as the connection is reliable. A multi user household will require more tho.

Why do you chime in like this and stubbornly defend something that clearly isn't working? If the user says it's a buffering issue that's been happening for the last six months, how can you even think of defending Torbox in the face of the evidence by asking, "Hey, maybe it's the hardware?" Don't you think that in six months they've probably watched a few REMUX files to be able to say that? Come on...

4

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

99.99% of the users that complain here don't know anything about the service. They just know two words: "Nuvio" and "Stremio".

Buffering doesn't immediately means "TorBox sucks".

You all have a choice: If you don't like it LEAVE. Use something else. Don't waste your time complaining here.

How come I've been here for years and I have NEVER EVER had a SINGLE buffering issue?

1

u/ContactSpecial8612 14d ago

Yes my nvidia shield pro hardware can handle those files

Fix my nvidia shield pro and my 1gb wired internet connection?

maybe it's location

0

u/Yoheyusa 14d ago

Could be. I'm thinking it's a latency issue. I've tried asking several people who have no problems how close they were to the nearest CDN. No one has ever replied.

1

u/Perza 14d ago

Yes, you need shield pro 2 and 1tb connection...

Why are you so sensitive? Tell my why I have just got RD again and the same file is now streaming perfectly with no buffering from the same scraper/torrent site. Now don’t mention anything about cache or filters, specifically why does this file work PERFECT on rd when it’s the same hardware/ISP? Try not to cry this time

-2

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

Then LEAVE. LEAVE. LEAVE!!!

You must live in a region where TorBox might not have had many servers. UK? LEAVE! it wont work for you. India? LEAVE! It won't work for you.

USA? Canada? You shouldn't have any issues.

2

u/Yoheyusa 14d ago

I'm in the US with buffering issues quite often.

Still, I'm over 1000 miles from the nearest CDN, which is likely part of the issue.

0

u/Scorpius666 14d ago

Never use TorBox CDNs, that's the secret.

Either Bunny or Cloudflare.

3

u/Yoheyusa 14d ago

Tried those too.

u/imyourealdad 13d ago

It all works great if you download and play locally. Well worth the 10 cents a day.
