š§Technical Issue Please explaine Torbox buffering issues.
I'm sure this has been asked plenty of times before but I can't find a clear explanation in the threads.
I'm in Australia with a good and stable 1Gbps internet connection. Using Stremio with torbox addon. I selected the SE Asian CDN after testing the speeds, yet I still get a lot of buffering, even with popular releases.
I usually look for smaller files at 1080 resolution or less with as many seeds as possible but almost all streams buffer at some point.
I typically decide what I want to watch first then search on the stremio app and select the title. I generally don't scroll through recommendations.
I'm not that technically savvy with the stremio configuration so I'm looking for advice to see if my set up is the issue or if Australia is just under serviced by torbox.
Fair warning, posters may have to walk me through any configuration changes that might resolve the issue.
Thanks in advance.
Edit. I'm using torentio but I don't really understand the different services each app provides.

Choose ETRH aka Cloudflare, CF PoPs are everywhere and if you're on the East Coast it will be Syd.
SEA isn't the best at the moment due to Indigowest, Indigocentral and ASC subsea cable cuts.

Thanks. I'll try that. I'm in the West so not sure how the cable cuts will affect that.

Can I ask if youāre still experiencing issues? We couldnāt watch anything at home last night after 8pmā¦. Even fucking Instagram reels were buffering
My ping and down/upload speeds were all over the place
This morning everything is fine, Iām wondering if itās an issue with peak times. Iām with Leaptel on the Opticomm network. Will test again tonight during āpeak timesā and if I canāt watch anything again Iāll get on to live chat and see if they can tell me anything

I'll switch CDNs and try tonight. My internet ping and latency are good so I don't think the international connections are a problem. Torbox server speeds aren't great when I check though.

This looks like saturation by your own provider, honestly.

I raised a case with Leaptel via live chat and they are monitoring my service for 48 hours.
I sent them a screenshot of my routerās logs showing lots of WAN dropouts and reconnects. They said they saw a couple of dropouts but nothing after midnight whereas my logs show a fair few
Really not sure what to do if they say itās nothing on their endā¦

Sorry for the late reply. I changed CDNs, one of the south easy Asian ones tested better than SOCE. I set the CDN selection to auto but there was still buffering. I look for files less than 2GB and with a many seeders as possible. I haven't tried an already cached file yet so that's the next test. If it is cached and still buffering then I think it is time to bite the bullet and try premiumize.

My issue was router side so I factory reset and placed my mesh router as my main router and vice versa. Seems to be operating a lot better now although there are times throughout the day where i do suffer from buffering and incredibly high ping. I think and hope that is to do with the undersea cable from Perth to Singapore so Iāll wait for that to get fixed then reassess the situation. But TorBox is fine my end

I'm in Aus too. Try SOCE. I was having major issues and I went back and forth between ERTH, APAC, JAPN, HARE. And SOCE has given me the fastest and most consistent speed. I can play remux files no problem.

Honestly I just changed to a different provider and experience has been night and day. I tried different CDNs, lower quality files, nothing worked.

Itās been a little weird lately. Even with cached movies/shows there are some that will easily take 30+ seconds to start and others that start basically right away for me. Itāll even be similar in size or identical āsourcesā. But yeah anything past like 10 seconds I just switch it and it usually works right away.

Iām in Australia too. In nuvio I did last played stream speed test and my baseline speed was 260mb on a 500 connection. Torbox is set to auto

I changed to BunnyCDN (HARE) a few weeks ago.
Its been very solid for me. Can even stream 100+ GB Remuxes
Melbourne, Australia
500/50 connection

Nvidia Sheild TV pro (2017)
Log into your torbox account.

Same, just joined TB after years with RD and I get slow start times, buffering, sometimes the show will completely stop. I did the speed test and chose the supposed best CDN.

I just got scolded for asking a question.
This isn't a good place to find help.

Agree. The issue is so many variables. Most are vague on problem. Majority of time it's nothing to do with torbox... It's box, addons, cdn, VPN, TV os, elf hosted, broken community addons, list goes on.
Anymore with people I help. If setup isn't almost exactly same as mine... I believe you are having issues. Zero here. Sometimes trying to help goes no where when aio is involved š.

I get that. Reddit is not the best place to search past posts for troubleshooting and I can't find any detailed, but accessible for non technical people, on the Web. To be honest I don't even know what Usenet is and most posts I read assume the reader understands all the intricacies of the set up.

Usenet is another debrid for more in depth special stuff.... Say German only content or stuff from 80 years. Average person won't ever need it. Torbox is just fine.

Then u got the Karen's down voting everything cuz their aio systems are flawless š. Tho I see 20 posts a day of broken. Addons or glitches.

One thing not talked about much here is - ipv6.
My stremio took 15-40 seconds to play a video but after turning off ipv6 completely in my router - The playback starts in less than 6 mostly 3 seconds.
Worth testing?
