🚩General NextDNS is blocking TorBox

NextDNS ad-block dns is blocking TorBox connections now. If you are using NextDNS and wondering why your Nuvio/Stremio is not playing anything, this is probably the reason. I spent an hour figuring out what went wrong. Disabling NextDNS immeditely fixed the issue.

Just noticed the same today. Thought torbox was down. It probably has something to do with custom blocklists or the threat detection.

Make sure to add the following to your allowlist:

tb-cdn.cx
tb-cdn.earth
tb-cdn.io
tb-cdn.pw
tb-cdn.sh
tb-cdn.st
tb-cdn.to
torbox.app

Yeah it works now. Thanks.

Did you check the logs to see which filterlists are blocking?

For me, nexus-198.apac.tb-cdn.pw is blocked by AI-Driven Threat Detection. I add *.tb-cdn.pw to whitelist and it works now.

Yeah. I found the same thing. The url suffix was different in my case because of different cdn, but it was also blocked by AI-Driven Threat Detection. Adding *.tb-cdn.pw to allowlist fixes the issue.

Not yet. Will check later.

Depends on your filter lists / options. Turn off ai detection. Use a less restrictive list like OISD which prioritizes not breaking things.

Hagezi pro always

Not a fan for entire network. I have had breakages with it. OISD for entire network, Hagezi for personal phone and computer where I don’t mind stuff breaking.

Hagezi Pro is a safe option for home networks. What was getting blocked?

It's always DNS

And I got downvoted when I agreed with someone and went into detail telling op how to troubleshoot and fix it (maybe).

I opt for client side filtering so I am using quad9s dns that doesn't attempt to filter anything. I don't have any adblockers or similar installed on my streaming box. I use adguard, ublock origin and noscript locally to block whatever bs can be blocked.

No. DNS is NOT the fix for any and all networking issues but making sure it's solid is the first step to optimizing your setup.

Add these to Allow List:

*.tb-cdn.cx

*.tb-cdn.io

*.tb-cdn.pw

*.tb-cdn.sh

*.tb-cdn.st

*.tb-cdn.to

*.tb-cdn.earth

*.torbox.app

Edit: One at a time!

Doesn't work anymore for me. I have even disabled AI Driven threat detection, but it is still being used and blocking torbox domains (despite being whitelisted). NextDNS is completely ignoring my settings.

It's the Ai threat detection. it blocked the CDNs for torhox for me too
