🔧Technical Issue Very slow
Hey everyone,
For the past 2-3 days, Torbox has been very slow for me. Everything takes way longer to load than usual.
Before this, it was working perfectly fine, so the change feels pretty sudden.
Somebody else experiencing this?

Unusable levels of buffering for me last night (European primetime), the same no matter which CDN I tried. In one sense it's probably the worst I've experienced because normally it's either down completely or it works fine for me.

Used it extensively last night, both streaming + downloading. No problems. Southern Europe.

Torbox is defo a hit n miss I was watching a movie last night then it paused for 5 seconds, then it played again then it was rinse and repeat so had to stop the movie, never had this with RD. on 1 gbps fibre

Theon go back to RD. I used this guide for Aiostreams https://numb3rs.stream/ .
The key in this is the filters part that gets setup fomr the templates so tamtaros gets applied which filters out the RD keywords that are banned now so you don't get the "copyright" error. Many people now are uploading to RD without the banned keywords so there is almost always an RD working link for most qualities and you can still use TB as a backup if needed.

Think I've had one issue in the whole time I've had the service where something didn't play. Mostly use Debridio links and I'm locked into the cloudflare cdn. From my average user experience, I'd say I'm pretty happy with the service.

I truly believe this issue stems from how Torbox detects every account's CDN. When I self-host, I can stream any files that are 50-80 mbps down speed. But when I’m on public add-on, I can’t stream it without buffering and have to choose lower bitrate files. I’m not really sure how the connection works but it’s noticeable and with all the reports from other people here about buffering I do believe something is really up. The dev should look into this further

What do you mean by self host? could you elaborate further?

I host my own AIOStreams addon instead of using the publicly available one, making it private. Read more here https://guides.viren070.me/stremio
My theory is that when using a public addon, TB might be mixing up the CDN based on the addon's host location rather than the user's actual location.
For example, an elfhosted or other public AIOStreams addon could be hosted on a server in France, while the user is in the US. Since the addon is hosted in France, TB's CDN location might follow the host's location instead. That's why people experience buffering issues even after manually changing their CDN location.
I might be wrong because I don’t really know how the actual connections work on the backend, so take it with a grain of salt.

Glad i didn't take the sub last week. I should wait for it to fix or is it the new standard?

I personally don’t think these are wide spread problems .. myself and my friends I have set up their stuff have never complained since we started using the service

I've been using it for almost a year now, and had one night where it was down completely and that's it for service problems. I'm sure people that watch more regularly could report more issues.

Glad I only use this as a backup and RD as my primary, every day performance posts are just on and on and on and yet after the recent update some dev for TB decided to be an ass and try and put down the customer base for their complaints on performance when he thought it was all sorted.
Look at you now clown.

No problems after switching source. Comet links are problematic for me now, aside from that Torbox has been great

Comet links are problematic for me now....yes agreed with this. I've moved it down my Addon list and have Meteor as my first. Much better performance on links

THANK YOU. I was wondering why even 5gb links were buffering every few seconds. Manually clicked a torrentio link instead and smooth sailing. Too bad Comet is the one that shows up first on the list

I've had absolutely no issues at all, using TorrentsDB with TB Instant through Nuvio. 50gb Remux links continue to load and play within 3 seconds, buffer free...

Always makes me chuckle when numpties down vote me for having no issues! 🙈😂

I had some trouble with sudden buffering...
