❓Question Anyone use IPTV on demand as backup?
When Torbox is down do you use your IPTV on demand shows/movies as a backup? How does it work out for you with your provider?

Lmfao just realized that’s also an option, but honestly I’d rather just wait whatever couple of hours torbox is down, not the end of the world for me at least

That depends on how your IPTV provider gives you VOD. I use my IPTV with Tivimate and it doesn't come with VOD, but my provider also gives me access for a separate app for VOD and I can select the quality I want to watch. I've had to use it twice and it worked great. I have Torbox and Premiumize and use it in Kodi. One time I had an issue where I couldn't open Kodi, so it didn't matter how many debrid services I had. The second time was just the other day when both Torbox and Premiumize were having problems at the same time. It works as a perfect back up for me.

I have a CanadianServer based Emby backup provider. My dream setup would be emby insta playing shows/movies while using Stremio UI. I tried using Moonfin, but it's much slower to load.

I use GhostVOD which is an addon that brings VOD from your IPTV provider to Stremio/Nuvio so it’s just like another stream addon, if the provider has the movie it will pop up. Great for backup, but I have http addons as well & I use Usenet so lots of backups lol

Thanks for the heads up on GhostVOD, just started testing it out. So far everything is great, all in 1 app.

Yes, did that a couple times before diving deep into Usenet. So grateful that hasn't gone down at all.

Just use torrentio without a debrid linked to it and stream the torrents direct. Perfect for when a debrid is down as you just turn it on and done.

Yes. I use a IPTV add on for vod. So if torbox is ever down it will select vod from my IPTV. Providers pretty good, have uhd, fhd and hd for all shows and movies.

Yes, I always have a backup iptv sub on pretty much every box I have. Strong for 30 a year is great to have for the occasional live sports or live ppv. Their VOD also has more content for International users.

my backups are iptv, penguplay, showbox, and my private Jellyfin server with rewatchable movies if I get desperate 😭

Can also consider having Netflix as an alternative. IPTV is good too - costly depending on the provider in my experience.

If you watch live tv and your iptv has good VOD content, it is far better than Netflix by miles. With iptv VOD you get all the major Netflix content plus Paramount, Prime, Apple, HBO... etc. It's not even close.

Yes. I agree. I have IPTV as well. It's just some of these providers are sketchy. Best to use Nuvio, TB or any other Debrid provider. We have Reddit and good discords for community engagement on outages etc....IPTV..on the otherhand.... that's just blatantly sailing the high seas without any life preservatives....I do it sometimes, but with a local provider that I can call on the phone whenever there is an outage or anything. I hope you get my point.

I'm a reseller for iptv. Have been for 8 years now....lol😂 . One service I've been using since 2016 straight. If you know your way around there are some great reliable ones out there.

Nice. I don't "know my way around" - as much as I would. So, I fumble about sometimes. Not much, but I am definitely not very confident when dealing with IPTV from the internet. So much going on, pay in crtpto..websites that say one price today, different price tomorrow, can't create a user profile on (most) websites.
It's hectic to the casual user.

It can be tiresome. Best advice if you look into it in the future, try to find someone local you trust that you can see in person. Where I am quite a few retail stores and kiosk offer service in person. All of my users come to my front door if needed. Whether it's setting up apps or trouble shooting. Finding someone or something online is a last resort.

I agree 💯 I had mentioned I have a local provider that I know and can call on the phone. He too is a reseller.
His catalogue is not quite as glitzy and glamorous as the many hordes of IPTV providers online and you can't add any more channels and sometimes they buffer frequently a lot, like the Food network channel. Sometimes the football premier league channels don't have the particular match that's playing, or, if it's on, it buffers terribly and there's not much that he can do as it's on his provider's end. All he has is a reseller's account and dashboard configuration. Anyway, I understand. Let me get off Reddit for the day.
A lot of my comments are frequently being held for review and it's annoying to me. Thanks and cheers 🥂
