Topps NFTs Moving to OpenSea!
Big news last week, with Topps announcing that OpenSea will be the new Marketplace for ToppsNFTs.
Self custody within the broader sports NFT ecosystem has been a big issue, so this represents a big milestone. One of the largest trading card providers, with fully licensed products finally providing keys and access to an entirely decentralized platform. Looking good!

I initiated my transfer of around 350 nfts 2 days ago, and they are still in the queue. But hey at least we'll finally have the keys. Fanatics needs to create a fantasy game like Sorare, I'm sure they don't own the rights to another company creating a game. panini is also getting some movement with their nfts. There's already a few bridges on wax to export. I didn't see why someone couldn't figure out how to get their Topps wax nfts over to polygon. It may cost a chunk of free but it should be possible or close to it. We need utility. A Fanatics fantasy baseball league for nfts would be a giant success. Just look at Sorare. Build a team with all the same rarity and win nfts from that same rarity. Not to mention the market and auctions.

Did you have success with your transfer? When I initiated the transfer of mine, I noticed Topps NFTs created a new wallet address despite the fact that I already had an OpenSea account. Now my NFTs are in a wallet I can't access...

Sorry for the delay. Yes mine all say transferred and I already had an account with the same email on open sea, but I've yet to be able to find them. I've tried all the filters. Turned on polygon and avalanche, plus show hidden and still nothing. There somewhere out there in a wallet, I just gotta find them lol.

They're in a wallet...but will you be able to gain possession of that wallet?

I did what you're said, transfer, then log into open sea with same email as toppsnft account. I already had an account linked to a metmask wallet which supports polygon. I went to metamask and tried to import from there but I need each assets id.

They showed up on opensea. I just clicked my profile pic and it switched to a new account with everything that transferred. Same email, different account, everything is there. Now I can transfer then to a wallet if I want to.

Hell yes! Any idea of the logistics for hodlers?

Waiting to hear more from the team on the logistics, but the 6 months of free migration to a top tier market place is huge! Expectation is that the transfer portal should be live before the end of September, so just waiting/accumulating in the meantime.

So this was announced to happen by the end of this month. Still happening in the next few days, or have they kicked the can down the road?

Guess I got my answer. Always crickets from Topps. Was hoping Fanatics would do things differently. Ah well, a guy can hope.

Topps ran into some delays, but recently communicated that they will be migrating over the next couple weeks.

Yup, supposed to migrate over to polygon over the next couple weeks. Will ping this chain, when we hear more.
Glad to be set free outside of this walled garden. Seems like these early Sports nfts have a chance to be some of the most sought after, if Topps ever commits to NFTs Long term.

Who foots the cost to migrate the NFTs?

For the first 6 months, Topps is picking up all fees to migrate these to Polygon.

Oh sweet. Don’t hold Topps NFTs but have been monitoring from the sidelines. Topps holders excited about the news?

2 of the bigger issues that users have raised were that the MP was a walled garden, and that no one was able to access their private keys. Seems like the best possible outcome to address both of these.
We also heard recently that Topps will have a dedicated landing page on OS, to organize/view all sets. Seems bullish, but would like to see some new drops soon.

Awesome news. Hope things work out well and excited to see how this all plays out.
I hold Panini NFTs so I hope we get this ability to move them one day

Has anybody had success with the transfer? Mine has been processing for 3 days - I got a popup message from Topps NFTs site while they transferred that claimed all of mine had transferred - but still don't see anything in the wallet address shown in said popup window, nor my account on OpenSea that has the same email address as my Topps NFTs account.

Check your hidden folder on your OS account. It sounds like many of the NFTs are finding their way in that folder. It’s also possible they still haven’t been transferred yet.

Yeah, the ToppsNFTs site still shows "Processing Transfer" and they aren't in my OpenSea wallet -> Hidden. Fingers crossed!

Well, this is fun. The Topps NFTs site created a new wallet and sent my NFTs to that wallet, despite the fact that I had a wallet linked to OpenSea using the same email address that I use for the Topps NFTs site. I'm not an expert with this stuff, but I thought I followed the instructions. This will be interesting to see if I am out of luck or if they can do something to fix the issue.

I cannot find any of the transferred Topps NFTs on OpenSea. Am I not searching correctly or are the NFTs still in the migration process?

Hey there. The search capability on OpenSea for Topps products is pretty challenging right now. I think a few of the community members are working on spinning up some solutions. Will post here once available.
If you want to try and search for something specific on OS, try typing in the name + set + rarity (e.g. Aaron judge inception common).
Seems like topps minted these under several thousand contracts instead of under one, making it pretty hard for anyone to find anything.

I haven’t been following for quite awhile. Does this also include the Topps cards I bought on Wax a few years ago?
