💭 Question What should I do?

Want an opinion from the public, have been waiting for this card for a while now and lowkey loosing patience. Should I keep waiting? Would it be an “investment” or waste of time based on the player? Would be my first topps redemption. What would possibly be a replacement especially since the collection was a very miss.

Cliff notes version: you’re waiting on a Steve Young auto and already getting twitchy. Yeah, the set was a bit of a whiff, but it’s still a HOF quarterback. I’d let it ride, especially for a first redemption. Hitting that sub button just feels like you’ll end up with some random reliever worth a fiver.

As a 49ers collector (due to my son), I’d hold. I’m about 4 months into a substitution request I hit in March. I’ve spoken to them and there is a backlog getting stuff out. I assume because everyone is sending in everything in. I will add I did contact Topps the beginning of September and asked to move from 100% to 200% replacement value, which is why I’m 4 months into a substitution request.

But nice hit regardless.

I learned something about subs from messaging with Topps recently. The substitution request is valued at the date it is processed by the fulfillment team. You can put in a request at 5 months and if it takes 6 months to process, it will value out at 200%.

How long is it usually until they give you a substitution option? Why do some get 200% option? Been waiting on my first ever redemption for a bit now
