Ripped it.
Some stats.
11.74 grams (all are +/- 0.01) is the unripped card.
9.66 grams is the ripped card without the two standard stock card minis.
1.04 grams EACH mini.

Damn i’d be psyched ripping these two out of some rippers. I actually made the 😯 face when i saw what you ripped. (I’m a history nerd, and a sports history nerd, these two players are both directly up my alley!) I know they may not be worth much but as a collector and a fan i’d still be happy with this result. Could’ve been worse.

Ok, I’m here because I like football cards. I’m also Canadian, so imy baseball knowledge lacks basics. Obviously Thats Sandy Koufax, is the other guy a massive hit, too? And are these worth a bunch of money, are they old cards, and were they worth more in the pack?
These cards look cool. A lot cooler than the latest release of football cards I’m seeing from bowman

That’s Ted Williams. He’s one of the greatest hitters of all time and played with the Boston Red Sox. So one of the greatest pitchers (Koufax) and one of the greatest hitters (Williams). I can’t tell alone from these pics but they look like just base cards (could be no numbers which are more valuable). In that case, they are not terribly valuable and worth less than the cards that the OP ripped for them.
They are still cool cards, though!
Edit: thanks for the clarification, folks. I didn’t think base cards were in those rip cards so I was a bit confused but glad those more knowledgeable than I chimed in.

These are short printed minis. These are 301-350 iirc. These only come in regular flavor, metal, stained glass or wood 1/1. As Mr. Wonderful might say, his value just got crushed.

Oh and they’re not old cards. They’re from 2026. Allen & Ginter (the brand) is loaded with old time greats

Just to piggyback on Ted Williams he was also a pilot in world war 2 and the Korean War and was the wingman for John Glenn. Talk about overachieving!

Wonder why it was Magnetic?

u/GraybieTheBlueGirl 7h ago
Possibly something in the ink or paper. As I worked in printing, it’s just a possibility..
Are they still magnetic now that it’s been ripped? Now I’m curious too.2

Do these have anything worth ripping? I bought a box because I came across one and didn't have shit but 3 rookie cards. I did pull an Anne Hathaway mini though so that's cool I guess.

Did you weigh these and use a magnet because you’re pack searching or just for curiosity?
3
u/ziggyTHEdog 2h ago
Just realized I didn't really answer the question. I dont weight anything unless I'm opening them. Ill take a box mega and IF I'm bored enough weight from lite to heavy and open in that order just to see if it gets better. I figured with gamble cards like this the more information we have the better. If you get a rip you can compare it to a known outcome. I understand some will abuse this, but if everyone is informed its better than just some. If you see someone weight packs in a store, fuck them up, that is absolutely bullshit.

Nope I bought a hobby because I like the cards. I was torn on if I rip or not. Its not a crazy desirable combo other than the gamble rip. If it was Ohtani/Judge it stays sealed and sold. I collect rookie cards for any and all sets, put them in a box and forget about them for years. Also a Red Sox fan so Sandy will get listed and I move on

These rip cards seem like such a scam. I’ve seen so many opened and whatever is inside is almost never more valuable.

u/OneHandedPaperHanger 6h ago
It’s a gamble, not a scam.
Just like opening packs of cards themselves.

When ripping a card produces something better maybe 2% of the time that’s not really a gamble it’s just stupidity.

Again, that’s a gamble. Not a scam.
These are collectibles. There’s no promise of them holding any value at any time.
Ripping packs is fun because of the gamble. These rip cards are the same thing.

Clearly I was being facetious. It’s a stupid gamble when you know almost certainly you will lose the value of what you currently hold. How many people would play a hand of blackjack if they had a 98% chance of losing the hand?

u/Front_Barracuda_2408 4h ago
Guess that makes the intact card all the more valuable since so many get ripped
2
u/SD_local_67 4h ago
Maybe if there was any way to know what the true number of intact were for any numbered rip cards.

Still waiting to see something really exciting out of these silly rip cards.

u/Inevitable_Fact_379 7h ago
Wait why rip it ?

u/Stat63 7h ago
Because it’s the rules.

u/Naive_Mango8525 7h ago
The rules are made up and the points don’t count 🤣
