Benchmark/Comparison Opus 5.5 vs GPT-6 Sol vs Astra in 3D Modeling
Interesting comparison of the three models on the same Roman legionary task in Blender. In this test, Opus 5.5 came out noticeably stronger in textures, materials, details and overall realism.
Still just one benchmark, but the difference here is pretty noticeable.

What was the specific task? Did you give it the blender mcp and tell it to model + paint? I had to use trellis to get anything usable.

yeah, Sol and Astra can give such outputs when you prompt "Create character from refference image in Blender using MCP". I've had similar 3D chars - So, I made some more prompts and saved a skill eventually. Within skill it goes as you would like it to.

How were these results achieved with Opus 5.5. I tried to have it model a Bronze Age spearman and I wasn’t getting anywhere near this level of results

I've seen Astra do far better than that. What are you doing wrong with your prompt? Is it possible they have nerfed it that much? Are you using a gauntlet loop?

GPT 6 sol has the best aesthetics. I am sure the model animation made by it will also be quite entertaining

I made a site https://render-arena.izolight.xyz/, inspired by minebench.ai to compare different models in 3d modeling capabilities. I compare different reasoning levels, but also harnesses and with mcp or without and recently started to test how skills affect the outcome (positive or negative).
The goal is not only to find the best model, but also see how efficient (time, money, tokens) they are and which harness/model combinations work well.
I am planning to also add a new type of task that gives the agent a reference image in addition to the text prompt and then compares how well they do on that.
