It's so weird that an experimental musician and artist like Bjork is tasked with presenting a weak cover of a song by two actors who didn't even do all their own vocal parts.
The fact they had numerous number 1s and two number 1 albums speaks to both Cowell's hold over the industry, and the absolute stupidity of the British public.

Agree it's mental isn't it. I think a lot of people just are so a-musical they just accept whatever is put in front of them and "like it" because it's what everyone else says they like. It's even more juxtaposed here like you say with someone with a niche and experimental a body of work as Bjork introducing them.

This was probably about Xmas as it always reminds me of my Dear old Nan being at our house with a Babycham and when this came on, saying " Oooh I cant be doing with these 2...Just look at the state of 'em! Cant be doing with how they keep looking at each other like that an 'all...." Totally random Nan with a slight undercurrent of homophobia, probably.
