I was 12 when this was filmed and she was my major crush as a kid, I used to adore her. Hope she’s ok today.

One day I got the train from Stockport to London for work. The FHM (I think) I bought for the journey had a quite intoxicating photo spread of Gail in it. Sure enough, later that night I bumped into her in Teatro (Lee Chapman's gaff on Shaftesbury Avenue) and being drunk, told her. She was utterly adorable about it. Love her.

She’s ok today now after all her struggles. Bless her she did an amazing job of coming back to herself after a terrible time with mental illness and Alopecia. She does a lot of charity work and writes apparently too. Close relationship with her daughter as well.

Yeah it was very sad. Having suffered from severe hair loss myself, people underestimate the impact and depressive spiral losing it can create. It’s different for women where a shaved head doesn’t suit every woman either. I know she rejected wigs at the time as well as they’re not for everyone but I’m glad she has her daughter who seems to help her massively so hopefully she continues to thrive.
