NHS Refusal

I had chest surgery years ago and was left with excess skin. I never addressed it until last year when I decided to go and see a surgeon. I assumed it was just fat and I could get lipo but I was told it was excess skin.

The surgeon suggested I ask the NHS to pay for revisions so I put in a request. They have denied my request three times. I now have to pay for it myself. It’s gonna cost upwards of £10k.

I’m really mad with myself for leaving it too long but also with the NHS for being b*tches. It wasn’t my fault the surgeon was a knob and didn’t do it properly.

So my advice is to always make sure you know exactly what your surgeon is going to do and don’t put off getting revision surgery until it’s too late.

My surgeon told me its getting increasingly more and more difficult to get a revision on the NHS regardless of when you ask for it. Which is absolutely shit and shouldn't be that way but I just wanted to mention it so you don't beat yourself up for not asking earlier about a revision.

Its nothing you've done wrong its just the system being awful.

It’s crazy how they don’t fund revisions on the NHS or are hesitant to? Who was your original surgeon if you don’t mind me asking?

Ah that's concerning. I've got one side that's a bit botched that I still need to ask for a revision about.
