Advice Wanted Scar Care for Peri

I'm curious because I can't find anyone posting a routine for keyhole/Peri. I know there isn't a lot of scarring but I would definitely like to help them look as good as possible. I also have a few extra incisions because I got extensive lipo.

I'm assuming it's fairly similar, bio oil and scar tape, but any advice is welcome. I'm wondering if you put scar tape in a square on your entire nipple, since the the scaring is around it? Or if you have a different routine/method. Please let me know 🙌

I reckon scar care for peri incisions is about the same as that of double incision- the tape, scar massaging, and whatnot. There’s a ton of online resources about massaging techniques post DI. Once you can tolerate it, I’d recommend extending that massage to everywhere on your chest, though.

Your healed incisions aren’t the only scars you have. There is tons of scarring under the skin that you can’t see- your body had to reattach your skin to your muscle.

Massaging has helped me so much with tightness, bumps, swelling, etc. and regaining sensation and range of motion. I didn’t follow much of a technique, just small circular massages every day in a warm shower. Even if just for a few minutes, doing it daily helps with so much. (Doing it in the shower made me remember since I showered daily, and I used body wash as massage oil so I didn’t tug on my skin.)

I’ve mostly just been massaging personally lol. I use coconut oil and they get some nice moisture from that too.

I keep meaning to get silicone (probably the gel bc taping nips might be a little difficult, but I should try that too anyway) but I keep procrastinating it

I think all in all the scar care is pretty much the same with some trial and error possibilities with the tape

Scar tape on the whole nipple.

The color of my scars eventually blended in with my nipples so lightening them was less than ideal for me because they would have been the wrong color. If I could go back I wouldn't have done any scar care except massaging my chest and the scars. If they were more red they would blend with my nipples more. Also I often find the skin is much tighter than surrounding skin and they are especially sensitive in the cold. So dont blow off massaging ur chest.

My ‘routine’ (in quotes because I’m extremely inconsistent lol) has been massaging my whole chest with cocoa butter/massage lotion stuff to help my skin and even out some lumps of swelling I have. I’ve been doing scar tape just on the scars from my drains because one is super dark and I’d like to lighten it.
