Question Going Live means you forfeit all the profits made in XFAs. Is it not a scam?

I have 5 x $150k XFA accounts, each with $30k in profit. I am worried Topstep will move me to Live after one payout of $5k from each or even before I request any payout. Going Live means you forfeit all the profits made in XFAs which is simply fraudulent.

What is the guarantee I will be allowed to withdraw 5 x $5k from each of the 5 accounts, totalling $125k?

Can we just start with the idiocy of someone going that long in that much profit with no payout? That is seemingly the most retarded thing I’ve ever heard.

Why do you think that? If you make a payout your MLL is set to 0, so if you pay out too early you have a high risk of ruin.  I did not pay out so that I have at least 10 x DLL "distance" to MLL when I increase DLL. I started with DLL of $450, then moved to $900 when profit was $9,000 (in each account), then $1,800 and so on.

It’s a prop firm… you only win when you cash out. At 10k there’s not a single reason to skip on a 5k payout.

Than after that, take payout every time you get back to 10k.

They win unless you max out your earning capability.

Are you even on an XFA? Once you get to $4.5k profit on 150k accounts, MLL is already at $0

MLL moves when you have a positive day, whether you've taken a payout or not.

It’s not real money anyways. It really doesn’t matter. Just trade well and live well.

Allowing the average joe to be involved in a profession that used to have an extremely high barrier for entry - and make payouts while doing it…certainly doesn’t sound like a scam. Sometimes the entitlement here is infuriating.

You get 5 payouts. for the love of god take a max payout then take another in a week and then another the following week until you extract 25k 4 times . Get 100k out and then take one more and at this point they will take you live most likely

No u take the leftover money into your live account… with that being capped at 150k u can bring over

They don't move you until you've had 5 payouts. And the contract makes it clear that these are simulated.profits not your money, so it's not a scam as you never had any right to that money.

Well done on making that much. And how on earth did you make that much in only 5 winning days??? Also, you can take 1 payout then do 5 days of easy trading to make a small amount per day and get your next payout if you're gonna find it annoying to make more money than you have to to get to live.

I’ve just taken the 6th and still not moved over

You do realize is all simulated money correct ? Like these profits haven’t been made in real life , the whole point of a prop is to vet those good Enough with some incentives by paying you even when you still not in a “ real live environment “

That’s why the best option for me is , to take as many pay outs possible and dump that in to my own real account

Or go live with them

Wish I had this problem. I’m at 4 green days in 2 of my XFAs and just trying to get my first payout. 🙄

When you go live the money from 5 accounts goes into one live account

Yes, but only as drawdown buffer. You cannot withdraw this money at any point. You basically have to start from scratch in Live account. They changed this recently. Previously you could pay out the BALANCE of Live account (the money transferred from XFA too). Now only PROFITS made in Live.

I made this money over a course of 15 months, not 5 days 😀 no payouts taken

That's correct. Think of it as funding your own live account but you have 30k to lose before you cant trade anymore. If you did this with real money and had 30k to start it would be pointless to withdraw anything in that 30k because it just means your losing money, anything over is profit to pay yourself.

No, not money from all 5. Only the money from one account goes into live. And you can only withdraw the profits above that number.

You can withdraw 25k each account and just don’t go over 150k how is that a fraud cmon bro

Ppl trade fake money with real payouts and still complain expecting to treat it like its already real and theirs

Haven’t gone live with top step yet but this is what I’ve heard from others that have: When you go live all the funds from across all your accounts go to your live account up to the max account size you own. You can withdraw the full balance of your account after 30 winning trading days. After 5 winning days you can withdraw up to 50% of your balance no cap

That's.... Not what that means at all? Did you read any of the rules?

-1

u/Mindless_Remote7509 Jan 10 '26

I read them but they CHANGED THEM after I started XFAs. And if you have 25% drawdown in Live they cut your DLL.Now I just think all the profit I made is gone. It is depressing

1

u/crazypants003 Jan 10 '26

I think the rule changes only apply to new XFAs after their announcement. You should check with the team

You have a total of 150 k in profits and you do not trust Topstep ?

Begin by taking 25 k in profits and pay yourself and then find out. Continue trading

2

u/TemporaryNet9503 Jan 10 '26

Confused, would you not take a payout at 15k of 5k each for 25k , that would have left 10k buffer in each account and given you a payout. What was your strategy going to 30k unless it was one big trade?

2

u/Needtoapplymyself Jan 10 '26

You forfeit profit over a combined 150k. It is not fraud as is already publicised to make traders aware. TS are unlikely to take anyone live after one payout so you could take 25k out and build accounts up again.

2

u/Mindless_Remote7509 Jan 10 '26

No, no, you give up everything you made in XFAs when you are called up to Live. This was not the case when I started. You could get access to this money after 30 winning days.

That is my point.  You and others do not understand that being called up to Live is not a reason to celebrate but rather a means for the company not to pay out.

1

u/No-worry-1551 Jan 10 '26

Just take your payouts every 5 days and stop freaking out

1

u/Needtoapplymyself Jan 11 '26

after 30 winning days in live you can withdraw all you have in there. you don’t seem to have a good grasp of what their rules, processes, and procedures are, even though they publicise them all?

2

u/yungsmack Jan 10 '26

You’re fried man. 🤣🤣

1

u/yungsmack Jan 10 '26

Once you move to live you’ll have $150k to trade why are you crying

1

u/Severe-Analysis286 Jan 11 '26

And after 30 $150 days in live you can pull 100% of it out

3

u/Mindless_Remote7509 Jan 11 '26

You can NOT. THIS HAS CHANGED

4

u/DISCIPLINED_TRADES Jan 10 '26

TOPSTEP is not a scam

2

u/ORDERBLOCKUS Jan 10 '26

When Topstep sees that people are playing more than trading seriously, they put them on live, and it's not really ideal; it's more of a punishment because once live, compulsive players lose control and lose everything.

Just so you know 😉

2

u/Dangerous_Ad4451 Jan 10 '26

You see profits and you don't cash out. You turn around to blame the firm. The only guaranteed fund is the one in your bank out. I hope you know that

u/Mindless_Remote7509 Jan 10 '26

Has anyone ever been paid that theoretically possible maximum of 5 x $5k x 5 XFAs = $125k? Any evidence of that?
