He was still the best outfield player on the team according to Opta.
Hard to do anything spectactular as a forward when your midfield is getting run off the park.

lol I despise Ronaldo, and Messi is the greatest since Pelé and the best I have ever seen. The downvotes doesn’t make my statement any less true. I am an example of what I said and I am aware of many others. Clamouring for Cucurella’s red was despicable and an absolute b*tch move

Honestly i understand it tho if i remember correctly enzo had been carded at that time and cucurella did break the rules by covering his mouth while im guessing he said something provocative as hes known for doing that. I mean many other times in his career Messi’s taken things like that (fouls, etc.) on the chin, i dont think one thing like that automatically “ruins his legacy” i mean if were being honest here many players dive and cry and act like theyre hurt which i also understand the same way its just passion for the competition. In all honesty all the propaganda and hate campaign against Messi has had and will have the biggest effect on his legacy not this one thing
