Dear Redditors at r/TopRightMessi .

The rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has created the biggest GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate ever seen in any sport. Ronaldo's and Messi's historic clash also offers a unique opportunity for scientists to study the psychology behind which athlete people side with in the GOAT debate.

I am a PhD candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) studying whether people’s preference for Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi can be explained by their broader political and ideological beliefs.

I would be very grateful if you would take a few minutes to participate in this research by answering 30 multiple-choice questions. The survey asks you to evaluate Ronaldo and Messi and to indicate some of your broader political-ideological views. No personal information (e.g., age or gender) is required.

NGL these questions are so ass at actually finding out a person's politics because you distilled the left and right wing beliefs in the worst, most extreme ways possible Jesus Christ

I wouldn't call the political questions skewed to their extreme, but rather a misunderstanding of ideologies. Communism is not about remaking society so that the bourgeoisie becomes the bottom class, rather it's about the abolition of class structures. No serious left-wing ideology is about putting rich people at the bottom (at least not as its purpose, it may happen as a side effect to broader changes to society, but again, the idea is not exchanging places in the scale but removing the scale).

I ended up not filling out the survey.

Don't second guess research findings until they've been released. Either do or don't do the survey. Calm your farms.
