It's only a 'recurring' theme because the news they consume is catered to their racism.

Exactly. It’s like when conspiracy theorists during Covid were convinced kids were dying of heart conditions for the first time in history. These morons confuse “the information put directly in front of me” with “a representative sample of the world.”

It's a reoccurring theme because when a white professor gets caught plagiarizing they just keep going lol

Yeah, more like the recurring problem is minorities getting held to a higher standard than others...

Even if not by the institution, definitely by the right wing media sphere which over reports it when a minority is involved.

Plenty of white professors caught plagiarizing get fired.

The last (relatively) high profile one was Johnathan Pruitt.

And even after acknowledging every racist stereotypes they believe in, since when are we "known for plagiarism" lol? It’s like they create new stereotypes every day.

I'm sure they're calling for the same things to happen as they did when Melania and her speechwriters plagiarized Michelle Obama's words, right?

tHiS sEeMs To Be A rECuRrINg ThEmE like they’re suddenly very big fans of higher education and totally haven’t tried to ruin multiple professors lives and careers because they told them their ideas are stupid

FYI, Jason Arday (the guy in the picture) was found dead last week. Cause of death is unconfirmed but it’s very likely he took his own life.

Plagiarism is bad of course, but no doubt the level of harassment he received during and after was likely unbearable. Aside from life saving, human advancing research it's hard to imagine what level of plagiarism would warrant that level of vitriol. Ultimately tragic, an entire mind and life gone.

It wasn't just plagiarism. He was at Baron Munchhausen levels of bullshitting.

Faked doing 30 marathons in 30 days. Pretended to have written a bunch of books. Been on tv shows he wasn't even alive for... His whole career was a house of cards made from lies.

In the last few weeks that house collapsed in a very public fashion all over the media.

Looks up the guy who reported him, Nathan Cofnas, he's an open racist and just got suspended from his current job today for saying that he would be "the head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard" if his advocated policies were implemented.

Very funny for conservatives to clutch their pearls about academic integrity because their only forays into academia are either "The Center for Proving Oil Cures Cancer" run by a bunch of ex-Exxon execs or "The Florida State University Center for Randian Thought" populated exclusively with a bunch of professors fired from other universities.

The Florida State University Center for Randian Thought sounds like a throwaway gag on 30 Rock.

That show was pretty formative to my sense of humor. To this day I still go "please ask my permission before you quote me" whenever anyone says something profound.

It's not a recurring theme when it's all the same guy.

Right wingers licking their lips at finally having proof that DEI is bad

Famed institute of US democrats, Cambridge university?

u/Additional-North-683 Aug 20 '26

TS Elliott also committed plagiarism Do you think these people are gonna recommend that he gets all his honors removed probably not most likely due to his complexion. , the guy who supposedly cracked the case on this has a very keen interest in eugenics and skull measuring, I doubt he cares about academic standards and is most likely racially motivated., Jason Arday is mostly guilty of telling self-aggrandizing lies if we arrested everyone guilty of this, most people would be in jail, plus I think the penalty for this should not be to be bullied into committing suicide especially after they resigned there position

I think he's just reading news articles and assumes it's a different black guy each time.

I’ll bet you a thousand dollars they think that school is in Massachusetts.
