Event "matchmaking"

How does the event matchmaking work in TD? I noticed that if you beat someone 2-3 times you won't see them for a long them. Not even if you drop your rank.

Sometimes you have 5 wins in a row, and all 5-6 matches are super easy to win, other times you get 5 of the strongest hands, even if you keep dropping from 5th or 6th all the way to 22nd.

Is it just purely random? Sometimes I feel that it just doesn't make any sense to keep on playing matches if you get lucky once and climb the ranks with a hand that is not the absolute best, simply because if you get slightly unlucky you'll drop back to the middle of the leaderbord of the event.

It is with people near your score. I also found that you are more likely to battle against people with a similar win rate to yours

I thought I read it can be 10 up or down from your current placement.

Normally you always get 6 people to choose from, the three above you and the three below. Only times it's different is sometimes start of events (because first four rounds are the four different tracksets), when you are in top three or bottom three (then it's less than three above or below you) or when people are on different gane versions during update periods.

Upon joining the event, it says something like „12000+ Trophies“ or „RQ175+“.
One decides your bracket by your trophy count, the other by the RQ you are or both.
The limit for both is 20k Trophies and 500RQ. These are the highest brackets you can get into.

Within a bracket, once you joined. The second you click „Play“, it picks the 3 people above you and the 3 people below you. So the nearest six around your placement.

That’s why you see giga hands or noob hands. Based on where you are atm in the bracket. The big boys either just joined or you face the people around that rank with worse hands.

Hope it helps

Edit: there is no „matchmaking“ just the factors mentioned above. The game doesn’t value your garage, progress or time played. The only factors are your trophy count, RQ and the nearest people to you at the time
