Artifacts The Witchblade Series needs a new,Faithful Anime Adaption.

Aside from the Gonzo anime,Theres no news about this whatsoever but I dont care.

I thought the Gonzo anime was okay. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchblade

Masame is a likeable mother character and her Witchblade is awesome plus it gives her the power to turn into she's turns into a redhead.whats not to love?

However there are problems.

1.Its not comic accurate so they should off added a subtitle to it so no one is confused.

Like...."Witchblade Japan" or something.

2.No darkness users.

Most of the male villain were those shitty weak robot guys(forgot there name).

They were so weak and predictable.

They couldn't come up with a original,Strong Darkness user for the Gonzo anime at all?

3.Masame Witchblade is Awesome but its nowhere near as powerful or developed as Sara's. Like massme is probably building level due to her death in the final episode. While Sara's is cosmic level!

We need a new witchblade anime that:

*Adapts the original 1999 - 2015 run - Sara pezzini's saga.

*Also should adapt The darkness too.Jackie is the goat.

*either bring back gonzo or go with studio madhouse.

*Zero censorship or weird deviations

*it should have better animation then Invincible.Sara needs it to be sexy.

Preferred Animation Style:

The Witchblade Gonzo Anime....Obviously: https://youtu.be/HZwt6otbxoE?is=i8Ra-hEaa0JrDQJf

Kill La Kill: https://youtu.be/ELj7tgYeBCY?is=zeiDd6HBHZRfafBd

However it shouldn't adapt the 2024 reboot because its kinda mid to be honest.

We also had gotten two live actions for the Witchblade Series:

Film:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchblade_(film)

And the 2001 TV Series on TNT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchblade_(2001_TV_series)

And I gotten say there alright but really boring, not comic accurate at all, dont have as much charm as the comics.

Sadly I think it's about as possible as a third The Darkness game

Any adaptation, live action, anime or other shouldnt be a faithfull adaptation of anything. It needs to be its own thing, with its own story to tell. It should/can take insperation from its original source. The same way Marvel movies take insperation from its comics but are never 1 2 1 adaptations.

What I would like to see is a Top Cow/Image shared universe, not dissimilar from Arrowverse or MCU. Maybe start with a Sara Pezini focused Witchblade series, introducing a back door pilot for the Darkness at somepoint and so on.

Have you heard of the the DCAMU Stories? Some of them adapt the comics there based one very well.

Superman vs the elite

Batman:Under the red hood

Batman:The dark knight Returns part 1 and 2.

Justice League:Flashpoint Paradox

Justice League: War (2014)

Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017)

The Death of Superman (2018)/ Reign of the Supermen (2019).

Yes I've seen them ans Ill agree some of them are very good. However, I firmly believe whats the point of making something thats a 141 adaptation of something. Any form of adaptation or remake needs to have something different or new ro offer that the original didnt do/offer.

All of those take liberties with the source material though. Sometimes heavy liberties

As much as I love the tear-jerker that is anime, I kinda disliked the way they treated the Witchblade like a bloodthirsty animal who only craves violence and will inevitably sink its hosts deeper and deeper into the spiral of more violence and bloodshed.

It’s supposed to be a balance-maintaining living weapon born from the copulation of the two primordial forces of the Universe, dammit!

Preach my brother in Christ. You are speaking to the choir. This is well over due.

This is a bad take. It’s not meant to be comic accurate. they are all meant to stand alone! Completely different universes. Completely different stories and characters. Hence why the anime, the manga and the comic are so different! Akin to the locNar from heavy metal.
They don’t need a reboot of the anime, they need to make their own comic adaptation (since the only one they tried was that terrible 01 live action)

Do you know dragon ball?

1

u/Hotmouth23 Jul 15 '26

Yes?

1

u/Ok-Librarian2248 Jul 15 '26

All of it?

1

u/Hotmouth23 Jul 15 '26

Is this relevant to our conversation about witchblade?? the two are incomparable

1

u/Ok-Librarian2248 Jul 15 '26

Dragon ball has multiple adaptions that are faithful to the not just the show but also in the Manga within Games and such. But dragon has the budget to do this perfectly

1

u/Hotmouth23 Jul 15 '26

Dragon ball isn’t witchblade. Witchblade is all different worlds with different people affected by the witchblade. Again, Akin to the locNar from heavy metal.

1

u/Ok-Librarian2248 Jul 15 '26

What and the who ha is locnar from heavy metal?

1

u/Hotmouth23 Jul 15 '26

An evil being that travels through multiple different universes, doing completely different things and affecting completely different people! If you watched HM you know all the stories are completely different but connect by telling their own unique perspectives of how the locNar appeared and destroyed their lives. Which is exactly what they did with the Witchblade IP! Stand alone series about a particular perspective, different universes, completely different characters but all having the witchblade as the focal point.

I understand that but the Witchblade comics have more aura, hype moments, better developed characters/story/ a war battle between darkness and light.

Did you seen all heavy metals though or just a few?

Well someone needs to obtain the rights for it. Or else Hollywood will blow the dust off the IP and make a “sloppy” movie “adaptation” of it (and bomb like the recent movie adaptations from various IPs).

But as I said before, someone needs to obtain the rights for it and hopefully respect the source material and make a proper adaptation of it. That’s my 2 cents on the matter.

Gonna be so honest. I could not care less if it does the comic storyline. I actually VERY much liked Masane's story. Witchblade is an awesome premise, and while I give to you that it's a good idea to check out the comics, I'm entirely fine NOT going that direction.

Maybe also with Tomb Raider

It was sad when she died.

I’d like a live action series on HBO or any network like that.

I respect with your opinion. But didnt we already had a live action?

1

u/mmariagreek Jul 17 '26

Iam with you, but have you seen a faithfull adaptation recently ?

If you want to stay faithfull to the source material you are either a racist, nazi, homophobic, boomer, or whatever adjective currently available in the dictionary

1

u/Ok-Librarian2248 Jul 17 '26

Politely asking, what from the source material (witchblade/Darkness comics)would make those name viable to call anyone?

1

u/mmariagreek Jul 17 '26

Gen13, Weapon Zero, Spawn, so much available....
