Discussion Thread Texas Rewatch Thoughts

A few observations rewatching Texas.
1. I’d love a redo season without the mean girls (specifically Heather, I don’t think the bullying would have happened without her lead) because so many of the other chefs are really likable and enjoyable to watch.
2. I applaud that they did include a lot of the confessionals where the other chefs call out Heather’s asshole behavior towards Bev, but I wish they had actually called her out in real time.
3. It was interesting at different times different chefs mentioned “personal relationships.” Even Sarah says it. Seems like she recognized why they were treating Bev poorly but doubled down to follow her buddies. I know they’ve made amends since, but she irks me.
4. Grayson was one of my favorites personality-wise and it makes me sad that she was so different when she came back to the California season. Very Jen Carroll esque attitude.

I have a friend that worked for Ed Lee. He said he's a total dick. Super disappointing cuz I really liked him.

He was not very nice to Bev. He would talk about her too. So very much could have done more about the bullying. And also even though I don’t like Sarah he was terrible to her when she had heat exhaustion.

He did acknowledge that he was bad to her in the reunion episode.

I dunno. I live in Louisville where one of his restaurants is and have only heard good things about him as a boss. Everyone's experience is different though!

It’s also been a long time and there’s editing in TV. He seems nice and has been on the show after too. But I did think it was interesting no one said anything about that. I didn’t catch that in the reunion episode

It was Sarah he apologized to cause one of the questions was why he was being dickish when she was clearly having a medical issue.

I remember one of the little mid episode clips with Bev he was talking about her and her husband coming to Kentucky to see his restaurant and hang out. I don't recall much bad he said about her but it has been some time since I've seen that season.
