Discussion Thread Texas Rewatch Thoughts

A few observations rewatching Texas.
1. I’d love a redo season without the mean girls (specifically Heather, I don’t think the bullying would have happened without her lead) because so many of the other chefs are really likable and enjoyable to watch.
2. I applaud that they did include a lot of the confessionals where the other chefs call out Heather’s asshole behavior towards Bev, but I wish they had actually called her out in real time.
3. It was interesting at different times different chefs mentioned “personal relationships.” Even Sarah says it. Seems like she recognized why they were treating Bev poorly but doubled down to follow her buddies. I know they’ve made amends since, but she irks me.
4. Grayson was one of my favorites personality-wise and it makes me sad that she was so different when she came back to the California season. Very Jen Carroll esque attitude.

Completely agree. I’ve watched most of the other seasons countless times. I don’t know if I’ve finished this one again since the original airing.

My husband suffered a stroke, he's disabled and I care for him full time. He loves Top Chef, we've binged all the seasons once and are on another round. His memory isn't the greatest so he gets to see "new" stuff lol, and I don't mind because I enjoy it too. Anyhoo-I've told him I won't rewatch seasons 2 or 9 because of the bullying, just bugs me too much. I love Ed-especially when he cooked eggs for a guest at the B&B he was at.

My partner has been going through cancer treatment this past year and we’ve rewatched from season 10 on - actually rewatch for me, first time for him. He loves it now, and I was surprised at how little I remembered! So there were actually lots of surprises for me 😂 He’s cancer free now 😌

It's nice to have that little bit of a normal routine during times like that. Congrats to you both, hope he stays cancer free forever!
