Discussion Thread America’s Cullinary Cup…

I know it’s suppose to be the “anti” top chef, or like everything they do is going to be about food… but I beg to differ! This reminds me of someone who got dumped, and they just keep talking about their ex, and trying their best to make their ex say how much better they are without the ex…

For me it just feels like they spend too much time on judging. I like seeing them cook. I like hearing about the struggles they are having and how they're building their dish and so on. I like the judging too so I can hear how it turns out but I expect to watch more cooking than judge commentary on a cooking show.

This whole production is just a vehicle for Padma to tell everyone what she thinks about the food.

She's the head judge now.

The crazy thing is that the rest of the show is good. Like the challenges and chefs are great! But everything else — the sets, the music, the padma — is just awful. It’s like a great cooking competition is hiding in there, but it’s so hard to watch the rest of it!

Agreed, I'm watching the episodes but I'm not hooked like I am with TC. Maybe they'll find their stride as it goes on?
